My name is Jeremy. I started out when I got my first camera in 2011, a Canon EOS Rebel T3. I never really did much with it until 2018 when I started wanting to shoot cars. Like most of us, I wasn't too good at first, but with the help of good mentors and inspiration, I started to find my own style. A fellow Stance Auto Mag photog, Wayne Hunter, was my biggest inspiration. With his recommendations, I followed others to the likes of Peter McKinnon, Alen Palander, and North Borders. From there I started my journey to where I am today. Once I started finding my workflow and shooting style, I delved deep into street photography, and occasionally portraiture. In 2020, once I transitioned into automotive photography, I retired my Rebel T3 and bought a Canon 6D Mark II and better lenses. I started my monicker, Twin Lakes Design, named after the road I grew up on, doing amateur photography and graphic design for local bands for album art, merch, logos, etc. Using that as part of who I am, I used it to tell my story. Where I grew up, what I've seen, and the stories I could tell. Now I use my photography to tell others' stories. The shoots we do, aren't just photo shoots. The memories we make are what make them special. When I shoot with clients, I like to make them laugh, and smile, I engage and learn about them as well as tell them about myself. The shots we get are important, but the journey there is what means the most. Peter McKinnon once said, “It just took a hold of me completely, consumed my life. From that point, I identified as a photographer.”
