Born in Japan in 1991. I came to the States when I was 6. Mom was a Taiwanese aboriginal while my dad was born and bred in Queens, New York. He was in the Navy and met my mom in Japan while he was stationed there. English was technically my second language so spent the first few years in the States in ESL classes in elementary school. Moved to Newport News, VA and lived on base housing. When I hit 5th grade, we moved to central VA close to Richmond. Been in the area since and been working with a Volkswagen dealership for over 11 years now rotating through the positions. Started as an oil lube tech and moved to a full-on technician. Changed to becoming a service advisor a few years ago and still going strong.
My hobby and passion for cars started with my buddy Carlos who introduced me to the import scene. He had a Civic coupe with a single cam and nitrous. There was a big weekend meet we’d go out to where people would hang out and race. After watching my first race with money on the line between a turbo Civic and a nitrous Saleen Mustang I was hooked.
I originally intended to get back into an import and do an AWD civic coupe build after selling my Gen 2 CTS-V. Since I tried my first domestic with the gen2 CTS-V I figured I give the coyote a shot. I never had a truck so I figured I’d check that box off as well.
It’s an amazing platform. The spacious cab and comfort in the ride (even with the lowered suspension) are very nice. The modern amenities are awesome too since I was used to 90s Hondas and other imports. I’ve actually used it a lot as a truck between storage runs, larger item pick-ups, and dump runs. This generation F-150 is also the nicest-looking regular cab truck out there in my opinion.
What makes my car unique? Good question, Simplicity and scarcity. I’ve always had a “less is more” approach and a “simple and clean” build. Future Plans
The next stage is to pulley down to see what breaks first in the stock transmission and engine. Then the idea is a built long block, built transmission, 10-rib conversion, and 1100+whp.
The car scene
I’ve gotten a good group of friends who can relate and share that common ground. I also get to fulfil that need for speed…lol
