Introduction:
Known to most as "Sheep," I’ve been drifting for around five years. My journey started in the show car scene, but once I got a passenger ride in a friend’s drift car, I was hooked. By trade, I’m an aircraft mechanic, but I also have a background in car mechanics, which definitely helps keep my drift car running. I’m 34, and while the show car life was fun, it didn’t provide the adrenaline rush I was seeking. Motorsport fills that gap, even though it’s often tough on the mind and wallet.
How Did You Get Involved in Racing?
I was at a car show at my local track when a friend offered me a passenger ride in his drift car. That night, I went home and bought my first BMW to turn into a track car.

Why Is It Exciting for You?
Drifting is always engaging, both on and off the track. I love building cars and experiencing the thrill of driving something I’ve worked on. There’s nothing like trashing the car with friends, learning from their knowledge, and coming back home to make improvements. Watching those changes play out on the track is incredibly exciting. Constantly evolving the car while staying within a budget keeps me hooked.
Memorable Race Experiences
The Scottish Drift Championship was an amazing experience, pushing me and my car to new limits. I also enjoy private track hire events, where it’s more relaxed, and I can just have fun thrashing cars with friends.
Have You Ever Sneezed in the Car While Racing?
Sneezing inside a helmet with the visor down is horrific! You’re torn between focusing on the track and dealing with the mess in your helmet.
What Car Have You Had the Most Fun Driving and Why?
My BMW E46, hands down. After swapping in a V8 engine and slapping on a turbo, it became a total beast. The first time I drove it, I came back shaking. Even now, every outing is thrilling, and there’s always a sense of relief when it goes back on the trailer in one piece.
What Is the Worst Car You’ve Ever Driven and Why?
A Corsa D. We used them as courtesy cars at my old job, and they were the rattliest, tiniest things I’ve ever driven.
What Is Your Dream Race Car and Why?
The E92 Eurofighter—because it’s an E92 Eurofighter. Enough said.
What Mod Would You Do First to Your Car?
For drifting? A proper seat. Drifting often involves long waits, and the last thing you want is a numb bum before hitting the track.
Who Is Your Favourite Driver?
James Deane—the things he can do in a car are mind-blowing.
Are You in It to Win It or Just for Fun?
A bit of both. I love competing, but I also enjoy laid-back drifting and putting on a show.
Where Do You Usually Race, and Is It Your Favourite?
I usually race at Driftland in Fife, which is purpose-built for drifting. My favorite track, though, is Mondello Park—the vibe and layout are unmatched.
How Many Laps Does It Take to Master a New Track?
I’ve never truly "mastered" a track. Every run is a learning experience.
If You Started Over, What Three Things Would You Do Differently?
-
Start with minor mods and learn the car before throwing everything at it.
-
Buy the best quality parts you can afford. Buy cheap, buy twice.
-
Ask questions! Drift drivers are always willing to share advice, and their input can save time and money.
What Was Your Worst Crash?
I rear-ended someone during a race. The driver ahead stalled, and I smashed into him, damaging my wheel, wishbone, and chassis leg.
Best and Worst Days on the Track
Best: A private hire event last year where I got to drive alongside some of the biggest names in drifting.
Worst: Losing my fuel cap at Mondello Park. It sidelined me for the rest of the day, leaving me stuck in the pits while everyone else enjoyed the track.
Where Do You See Yourself in Five Years?
I want to prove the doubters wrong and get on the podium. I’d also like to inspire more people to try motorsport, grow my team, and explore more tracks in the UK, Ireland, and beyond.
Do You Have a Pre-Race Routine?
Not really, but I always make sure to down a flask of coffee before heading out. Does that count?
Have You Won Any Competitions?
I’ve competed in the Scottish Drift Championship a few times but haven’t won yet. Work and car-building commitments have often kept me from participating, but I’m hopeful for this year.
What Is Your Ultimate Dream for You and Your Team?
To grow our name and inspire others to get into drifting. I’d love to start a vlog documenting the car build and track experiences, hoping it gains popularity and encourages others to chase their dreams.
