I chose this car as I’ve always wanted a supercar and an Audi R8 was in my current price bracket at the time. I said to the wife that I was t going to modify it but within 6 months that changed drastically.

I’m 45 years old from Waterlooville. I’ve been into cars and motocross since I was a kid. Started modifying cars as soon as I was 18. My first car was a series 1 rs turbo, following on from that I owned a sapphire cos worth, r5 turbo, Clio v6, that was just a few on them.

Then I got into motocross again when I was about 30 so this took all my time and money but stopped a couple of years ago after breaking my leg and ribs. So once again I started modding cars and brought my Audi R8 and made it what it is today. People say dreams never come true but a supercar was always my dream to own, I know mine is at the very bottom of this supercars range but is still classed as one. For a living, I’m a civils manager working in the utility sector. 

So getting into cars was due to my dad, I would always be with him when he was fixing his cars, he would only ever have a car for a couple of months before getting a different one. It wasn’t till I was older that I got into the car scene and would go with mates from school as we were all into cars. When I was younger I would go to a few cruises and shows, and it was always my dream to have a show car that was in a magazine. 

I chose this car as I’ve always wanted a supercar and an Audi R8 was in my current price bracket at the time. I said to the wife that I was t going to modify it but within 6 months that changed drastically. The car is an everyday driver if you wanted, and is not over the top priced on maintenance etc. 

It’s not very often that you see this car in this country modified, and I wanted to give it my personal touch. Once I brought the car and started changing it, then I couldn’t stop and could easily now carry on. But it’s time for me to sell the car and get into another project.  

I love this car and everything about it. It brings a smile to my face every time I drive or look at it. It gets attention everywhere, people taking photos, kids and adults. It makes me feel special every time I get into it. I built the car for passion and pride and I also love to show off, and this is exactly what this car does. 

Everything. The colour is the only one in the UK and possibly further afield. I don’t think I’ve ever seen these colour wheels and the combination of the carbon fibre, body kit and interior makes this car unique. How many Audi R8s do you see on-air.

Spec List

Audi R8 v8

  • 4.2 v8 with a stage 1 engine and gearbox remap 440bhp
  • Quicksilver titanium exhaust. Carbon skinned engine covers. 
  • Nardo grey with a blue Pearl flip respray. 
  • Carbon side blades. Maxton body kit. 
  • Carbon wing mirrors. 
  • Audi GT wing. 
  • Carbon rear diffuser. 
  • Full custom retrim interior in black leather with red diamond stitching in Alcantara. 
  • Carbon fibre LED steering wheel. 
  • All plastic trim carbon skinned. 
  • 20” niche alloys, powder-coated in bronze with calliper powder coated red. 

The brakes are standard vented discs and pads with a full airlift performance air ride. I haven’t done anything myself, as much as I’m mechanically minded, I don’t specialise in anything, plus a car of this value, I didn’t want to touch it. 

Shout Outs

  • Respray was tins of art paintwork. 
  • Retrim was done by absolute automotive and carbon skinning. 
  • Remap by jr tuning 

And a friend of my wife’s at LA autos who does all my maintenance and servicing, but also fitted the exhaust and steering wheel. 

Future Plans

There are currently no future plans for the car other than it’s up for sale, I now want something faster. If I was to keep it the things I would change are the complete stereo system and a twin-supercharger kit. Don’t dream it, make things come true. 

I have nothing to say bad about these cars, in fact, I’d happily buy another one, in fact, I’ve been looking at a standard v10 version.

Well, when I was a lot younger I met my kid's mum and made a lot of friends, some I see some I don’t, but even now when I’m a lot older my wife loves to come to shows with me and all my kids love it and fight about who’s going to come with me, a problem when you only have 2 seats.

Well it was a Ferrari when I was a kid but as I’ve got older a Lamborghini
