The story about this unique van begins a bit different than you think. The first step and idea was to build a nice and shiny van, which was actually done and Volkswagen T4 named PRIME (yes inspiration is from Transformers) And from the first time it was presented at events and competitions it began receiving trophies and to date, he has 25 of them and like an Autobots has a dark side – Decepticons, this T4 PRIME has his dark rival too.......and his name is OUTCASTER

It’s exactly the same type of VW T4 but totally different. Upside down.

This T4 is rusty, junky, dirty, noisy, smoky.......but absolutely brilliant.

One day, 60 years old (but still young as he says, laughing) self-employed builder John Power finally finished his first project PRIME, he came to the garage with a cup of coffee in his hand, looking at the result of his hard work with words: „looking nice, so it’s time to do something different......“

So he took his working van and customising began.

At this time he doesn’t use parts of interior or upholstery from custom shops but from junkyards, basement and barn find and skips (yes truly skips).

For example, the main fibre was from coffee sacks and the water system in the “living room“ is made from junky copper pipes. Most of the work was done by  John himself. Don’t judge the book by the cover. The body paint is completely made by airbrush technology from the master hands of Stephen Robinson.

So let’s have a look “under the bonnet“

The engine 2.5Tdi was customed on 140BHP with a bigger intercooler, the body is fully lowered on 17“ banded wheels, headlamps are originally from BMW so the whole face was rebuild.

One special item including.......BUTTERFLY VALVE, which is placed in the exhaust system. Why? By John’s words: „...I can straight out the side, or if law stops me I can send it out the back...“ the cherry on top.......the OUTCASTER was done in few months and till lockdown received 27 trophies and it’s the winner of Dorset DUBfest.
