Hi, my name is Sian Wells. I am 22 and live in Devon (UK). For 4 years I have been an SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant at an SEN School in Devon for children and young adults. I also am a Carer that provides respite for two of my students who are on the Autistic Spectrum. 

As for hobbies I love arts and crafts. I like making scrapbooks and many of them have been about owning my Mk6 Fiesta and also going to shows too. I also enjoy taking photos of cars and editing them. From an extremely young age, I have been around cars. From coming home in a 1987 Astra GTE when I was born that could barely fit a baby seat in the back. 

Both my parents (Lisa Smith & Andy Wells) have been a massive part of me being into cars and turning into an enthusiast. My dad was a mechanic and by the age of 6 years my dad had taught me everything about an engine he would point to something and I would know exactly what it was with no prompts. My dad then went on to be a Head Teacher at an Engineering College that he is still currently at. 

As for my mum, she's always been supportive of my love of cars and has enjoyed coming to meets and her first ever show at Silverstone this year (Ford Fair) where the Fiesta was specially selected for the Top 50 'Select' by Ford Fair and Autofinesse. I don't think without her being my 'hype girl' I wouldn't have had the confidence to enter the Fiesta into specialized areas for shows and also this magazine.

My MK6 was my first car. I spotted it on Marketplace and knew something was drawing me to go and see it.. I got it the same day I saw it. Many think that my Fiesta is either an ST or a Zetec S. It's not, It's a 1.25 litre Silver. I've always been a fan of Ford and seeing as my mum owns a Ford Fiesta Mk7 ST-2 I have always found the fiesta model very appealing.

At first, I didn't think I would modify the MK6 but bit by bit it slowly started to change. I have been modifying this car since 2019 and have only just recently had that satisfying moment where I am really happy with how it looks. I have always loved 'murdered out' cars and I thought to myself one day, "why don't I just murder it all out... be as dark as possible". So that's what happened over 3 years, it got darker.

My goal has been to just be happy with how it looks but the biggest thing for me was to encourage first-time car buyers can still make their first car look just as good or even better than the faster versions of their car. I believe any car no matter the engine size can look good if you put time and care into it and just because it's your first car or it's not that fast doesn't mean you can't modify it

Honestly... I couldn't be happier with this car. It constantly puts a smile on my face!

Over the last year, the Fiesta has gotten a lot more attention and that means so much to me. From being selected by the team at FordFair to be on their Top 50, for the first time being selected for Show and Shine at the first UK all-female car show (Garage Girls - Sisterhood) and finally to be recognised by one of the most famous Uk Motoring Magazine MaxPower to show with them on their special MK6 display area.

My most memorable memory at a show was being given a trophy at the show AUTO FEST based in Devon for "The Most Murdered Out" car on stand with my club. Being recognised made me feel astonished and super proud to own the car! My car stands out by being all blacked out. The car has recently been resprayed in its original colour Panther Black but with a lot more metallic which includes blue and white metallic (normally Ford only chose one metallic colour so to have both it glistens all the time). 

What also makes this car stand out, even more, is its Duel Exit Exhaust Cat-Back system with carbon fibre Akrapovic tips. Having this recent mod has really completed the car and has also gathered a lot of attention for its uniqueness with having 1 tip on each side instead of just one on one side.

To me the engine is completely stock... it still has its 1.25 engine and I have no plans on changing that as these engines are less common than the ST MK6 engine. You can say that this make and model is becoming rare.

My dad has helped me a lot with getting this car to where it is now! I have learnt a lot by watching him work on my car. Without my dad being there I don't know where this car would be right now as he has brought the vision to life.

As for paint work I want to thank @hades.team.uk for doing the full respray and getting the paint looking perfect for show season. It has also spent a lot of time with my detailer @MCP_Detailing by it having a machine polish to make it shine even more.

Future Plans

Currently, there are no new future plans and even if there were it would be a surprise for sure! The MK6 will be sticking around for a long time and I have no desire to sell it, means too much.

Advice

For anyone thinking of buying this car you honestly won't find that makes you happier. The number of people saying they regret selling their MK6 and it being the biggest mistake as they miss it so much. It truly is a car that won't disappoint.

The Mk6 is great as a daily driver and also as a show vehicle. I would say this is just a great all-around car that will really put a smile on your face!

The car scene has brought me closer to friends who I had lost contact with and also new friends who I have met through shows.

The car scene is a tough place and not everyone will like your car but the one bit of advice I can give is that you have built/modified your car for YOU... no one else and you should feel proud of what you have created because it's yours!

Dream Car

My dream car would be an R34 Skyline GTR in midnight purple or sticking to my Ford roots, a MK2 Escort in baby blue. The reason why an R34 Skyline is because I love the look of them and envy the YouTuber and drifter Adam LZ! As for the Mk2 my cousin has owned one
