Hello! I'm Kyle, a self-taught mechanic whose passion for cars has been fueled by working on Fieros. Over the course of my 21 years, I've had the pleasure of owning eight of these remarkable vehicles. My journey began at the age of 12 when I acquired my very first Fiero. By the time I turned 15, I had my eye on a stunning red '86GT.

My love for cars runs in the family. My dad introduced me to car shows and the world of automotive tinkering from a young age. I have cherished memories of baby photos with me lying under cars next to him, surrounded by tools, and attending car shows together. It was he who encouraged me to take on a project car at a young age, with the goal of having it ready by the time I turned 16.

One day, I stumbled upon a vague Craigslist ad for a Fiero. There were no pictures, just the year mentioned. However, I had a feeling it was the body style I desired, so I contacted the seller and arranged to see it. The car had been sitting abandoned in a storage unit since 1994, showing signs of wear and tear. But I was smitten. After some negotiation, I acquired it for $600—a decision I've never regretted. Fieros are incredibly affordable and can be disassembled like Legos. I appreciate their simplicity and the 80's styling, which is why I chose this unique car. It's a rarity in the stance scene, often sparking conversations wherever I go.

I take immense pride in the transformation my car has undergone. Building it exactly the way I envisioned, entirely by myself, has been a source of great satisfaction. Each time I hit the road, I receive thumbs-ups and inquiries from curious onlookers. The positive feedback warms my heart.

Now, in terms of drivability, it's important to remember that it's nearly a 40-year-old stance car on custom air suspension, all crafted by a 20-year-old. It handles a bit like a big go-kart, lacking power steering, ABS, or airbags—just as it was from the factory. While it may not be a speed demon, it offers a tremendous amount of fun and handles surprisingly well.

What sets my car apart, I believe, is its rarity in the broader car scene. You rarely spot a Fiero at local shows or meets, and if you do, it's typically a stock version owned by an older enthusiast. Additionally, my car's uniqueness stems from the fact that I've undertaken almost all of the modifications myself. From the custom air suspension to the aero enhancements, and interior upgrades to engine components, I've had to improvise due to the limited aftermarket support for this particular car.

Build List

To provide a brief overview, my car boasts a stock 2.8L V6 engine, a custom-stitched steering wheel from Irrationables Garage, custom door cards, trim upgrades, rare aftermarket side scoops, a custom front lip, a custom rear diffuser, BraveTech front LED turn signals, full LED exterior lights, 17x9 +35 Kansei KNPs, and a custom air suspension that I personally designed and implemented. The only aspect I haven't tackled is the paint job; everything else has been my own handiwork.

Future Plans

Looking ahead, my big plan involves an engine swap. I'm aiming to install a 3800 supercharged V6 mated to a 5-speed transmission.

Advice/Tips

My advice to fellow enthusiasts is simple: build your car for yourself. Don't be swayed by others' opinions, as there will always be dissenting voices. Your car is your canvas, and if it brings you joy, that's all that matters.

The Car Scene

What captivates me about the car scene is witnessing the diverse array of builds that enthusiasts create. The creative freedom in modifying cars is truly captivating.

Shout Outs

Lastly, I'd like to express my gratitude to my friends Cameron, Ryan, Brendan, Kristina, Camden, Albert, Larkin, and David. The car scene has introduced me to incredible individuals from all corners of the country, some of whom have become my closest friends. I cherish the friendships formed through our shared passion for cars and the way it brings diverse groups of people together.

Dream Car

In the world of Lamborghinis and Countachs, my Fiero may seem like an underdog, but it's a symbol of my dedication and unique automotive journey.
