I’m 21 years old based in England. I passed my test when I was 17 and started off with a Vauxhall Corsa Limited Edition 1.2 Petrol. As soon as I turned 18 the modifications began, first of all starting off with interior modifications such as seat changes, new stereo and sound system, footwell lights etc, the typical mods any 18-year-old into cars would start with, the easy ‘affordable’ ones if you were to categorise it.

My passion with cars began with my uncle, he was always known for having a unique, ranging from cars such as a Mk1 Escort, Volvo 850 T5R, to a Mazda MX5 loaded with a handy can of Nitrous in the boot… All of them contain unique to stand out mods, whether it be extremely noisy where you can hear it a few blocks away, or something that was known to light the streets of a night-time, I never wanted to get out of them once being a passenger in them from a very young age.

This was then passed through to my Mother as they grew up together who took a close liking to the motor modification scene, also sharing the same passion with owning a wide range of cars, starting from a Mk1 Focus ST 170, to Vauxhall Astra GTCi 170. The most memorable car I remember her owning was a Mk5 Fiesta ST 150, loaded with all sorts of body modifications making it certainly stand out from the crowd. All these cars I grew up with and sat inside, soon made me realise this is what makes me happy and made me always set a goal of owning the most eye-catching ride around, no matter what it was and how it looked, I knew that it would be my project, my pride and joy, and what would put a smile on my face just by sitting behind the wheel and taking to the roads.

The car I currently own is a Scirocco 2.0TDi 170 accompanied with many modifications. I have owned this car since the start of May 2020 and wouldn’t change it for the world, truly a car that I have fallen in love with!

When I got to the age of 16, this is when I started looking into cars properly, I knew I would soon be allowed on the roads and wanted a car that would set me up to start with. When looking for cars the scirocco always stood out to me, but due to my age and the size of the engine, it was hard to find affordable insurance for what was an expensive car for me at the time only being on an apprenticeship wage. I loved how Sciroccos looked, the unique shape of them, the way the car sat, along with there only being 4 seats in the motor, it was everything I always wanted to be the owner of and always set the goal of owning at some stage in the future. When it comes to this car, it was what I would class as a lucky find, one day randomly searching on the internet for modified cars to find a Scirocco for sale which matched all of my criteria, I knew before even going to view the car it was exactly what I was looking for.

When I first bought the car, it was already loaded with modifications. I will start with the most obvious one being the air suspension, a modification on the car that I never knew was something I would see in person, let alone own, as it was always something you would see on movie sets. The next big modification on the car would be the interior and exterior, a full Oettinger reupholstered interior, suiting the original white colour of the car going with the very stunning white and black theme, finished with a full suede roof lining to complete it. The outside has been completed with Oettinger front and rear diffusers, side skirts and finished with a quad power flow exhaust for the final ‘show car’ look.

Modifications Made so Far and Future Plans with the car:

The Full Spec List of the Scirocco:

  • V2 Digital Air Suspension Kit
  • Full Oettinger Body Kit
  • Fully Reupholster Oettinger Interior with Suede Roof Lining
  • Powerflow Quad Exhaust
  • Cars Wrapped in Frozen Matte Grey with the Drivers side Completed with Camo Effect

As you can tell the car came fully loaded before I even managed to get my hands on it, I kept the car white for the first 5 months of owning it, making small changes such as adding a sun strip with Oettinger branding printed on to it, along with a slimline subwoofer added into the back due to there being a limited room with the air tank and boot build to complement it already being a part of it. As soon as October came, I had seen many Sciroccos with unique designs and branding on them, this was when I knew I wanted something which stood out, therefore came the wrapping of the car. I had seen some cars wrapped in camouflage and some wrapped entirely in one colour, I liked the idea of both but never wanted a one colour wrap, so I went with the matte frozen grey base wrap with the camouflage taking up the driver’s side of the car, this work was all completed by A1 Car Wrapping in Lichfield, United Kingdom, and let me tell you, they killed it!

The work they produced has been unreal and makes me feel like I now drive a car much more than just a Scirocco. With the future fast approaching, there is a couple of addition I would like to make to the car, I have intentions of changing the headlights on the car, going with custom LEDs and colour changing additions to them, I also plan on making the car have some noise behind the power, being a typical lad, you will know there is nothing better than some noise to compensate the car's power. Finally, finishing with a custom sound system to complete the car, providing it with new speakers and a bass tube to complete the mobile disco effect.
