"There are very few feelings better than seeing your dreams come true because of hard work and dedication." – Kaden Honeycutt

Meet the Builder: Young Technician with a Purpose

At just 23 years old, Kaden Honeycutt of Johnson City, Tennessee, has turned passion into a profession. By day, he's a certified automotive technician. By night — and often late into it — he's the mind and hands behind a SEMA-level 2003 Nissan 350Z that's as heartfelt as it is head-turning.

The balance between daily work precision and after-hours creativity defines him. Every bolt, stitch, and polish on his car mirrors that same technical care — and emotional drive.

The Spark: From Rock Crawling to Tokyo Drift

Kaden's earliest automotive obsessions began off-road. "When I was younger, I was obsessed with rock crawling Jeep Cherokees," he says with a grin. But one film shifted everything — Tokyo Drift.

"After that, my world changed. I fell in love with Japanese tuner cars, the culture, and the creativity. It wasn't just about power — it was about personality."

From that moment, his direction was set: build something uniquely his, shaped by both performance and emotion.

Why the Z? A Car That Became Therapy

The decision to buy the 350Z came during one of the hardest chapters of Kaden's life. His mother was battling a serious illness, and each day brought uncertainty.

"I needed something that could be my escape — something that gave me a reason to breathe, to focus on something positive."

The Z became that outlet. Though his mom wasn't thrilled at first — "She didn't want me in a sports car," he laughs — she soon understood that it wasn't about the car. It was about healing.

"It became my therapy.

Humble Beginnings: Finding the Right Z

Like many young builders, Kaden's first car wasn't glamorous — a 2006 Honda Pilot, shared with his twin sister. But he saved, searched, and hustled through Facebook Marketplace until he found the right 350Z — ironically owned by his now-wife's math teacher. "It felt like fate," he says.

The Passion That Fuels the Build

What started as a project for fun quickly became a gateway into something much bigger: the car community itself.

"This car has opened more doors than I ever imagined. I've met lifelong friends, spent countless nights in garages, and shared stories with people who just get it."

His goal now is to pay it forward — to inspire the next generation of builders. Whether it's at shows or on the streets, Kaden wants others to feel what he did: pride in creation, therapy through craftsmanship, and connection through cars.

Words of Wisdom for New Builders

"Take your time and buy the right parts the first time. Enjoy every step — even the frustrating ones. If something breaks, don't give up. Fix it, learn, call your buddies. Those are the memories you'll talk about for the rest of your life."
– Kaden Honeycutt

A Build with Heart: Honoring His Late Mother

This Z isn't just a show car — it's a tribute. Every detail was designed to honor Kaden's late mother and to raise awareness for multiple myeloma.

  • The custom interior features maroon heartbeat stitching, symbolizing her fight and strength.

  • The fabric pattern includes sunflowers, her favorite flower.

  • Her love of silver jewelry inspired the polished finish of the engine bay.

"I wanted every inch of the car to feel like her — refined, radiant, and resilient. I hope she's proud."

Behind the Wheel: The Last True Driver's Car

"Driving it feels iconic. The 350Z might be one of the last true driver's cars — simple, mechanical, raw. It's like a perfect bridge between the old S-chassis era and modern sports cars."

His wife, Brealyn, has her own description: "It's like driving a full-sized go-kart!"

The Hands Behind the Build

Every significant modification — from the supercharged bay to the interior refinement — was completed by Kaden himself. For paint, he trusted one man: Parrish Combs of Bleu Customs, known for his meticulous finishes and show-quality touch.

"Doing it myself made it personal. Watching Parrish bring the final vision to life made it real."

Future Plans: Collecting the Z Lineage

While Kaden admits that "a build is never truly finished," this one might be as close as it gets.

Still, he's got his eyes on expanding his Z collection: "I plan to own the full Z lineage — 240, 300, 350, 370, and the new Z. Each one tells a different story."

Community and Family: Building Together

Kaden is proudly part of 742 Marketing / Racewars, Stature, and Slammedenuff — three pillars of car culture that share his commitment to creativity, unity, and respect.

"Being part of this community saved my life. I want to keep giving back and build with purpose, passion, and respect for the craft."

The SEMA 2025 Journey

For SEMA 2025, Kaden's 350Z underwent a complete transformation:

  • Supercharged by Z1 Motorsports
  • Widebody conversion
  • Custom paint and interior overhaul

"This car is my therapy and my tribute. To bring it to the biggest automotive stage in the world — and to represent my mom — is beyond humbling. It's everything I dreamed of and more."

Final Thoughts: A Sacred Achievement

"To make it to SEMA feels surreal. To represent something this personal makes it sacred. I'd like to thank JD Kuti for introducing me to Jeoffery Maldonado, who believed in me and gave me this chance. And to my mom — I hope I made you proud."

r0cean11 Photography began as a simple hobby for me—something I explored out of pure curiosity and passion. Twenty-four years later, it has grown into one of the defining parts of my life. Before stepping fully into automotive photography, I spent years building cars for SEMA. I photographed my own builds and projects long before I ever considered taking the craft seriously. That all changed when my last build was totaled; from that moment, photography became more than an interest—it became my purpose. ----------- Today, I shoot and write for Stance Auto Magazine, PASMAG, 742 Marketing Events, Super Lap Battle, Global Time Attack, RACEWORZ, and a wide range of automotive events across the United States. ----------- To me, automotive photography is more than capturing a vehicle—it’s about telling the story that lives within it. Every builder leaves a piece of themselves in their car, and my job is to honor that by showcasing their vision through my lens. ----------- You’ll find my event coverage, feature shoots, and automotive storytelling across all my platforms. I’m always open to connecting, answering questions, and collaborating with builders, enthusiasts, and fellow creatives. ----------- I am also a Partner with Stance Auto Magazine, serving as the Director of Marketing and Media. ----------- Facebook (Personal): Donald Rochin (Donnie Roc)
