Where Passion Meets Power
Few events capture the raw energy and community spirit of the automotive world like RaceWorz. What began in 2013 as a dream between three car enthusiasts — Matt Chilcote (@raceworz_matt), Marshall Chaney (@raceworz_marsh), and Wayne Chan (@raceworz_wayne) — has evolved into one of the most dynamic and inclusive motorsport experiences on the West Coast.
Born from the simple idea of uniting all aspects of car culture under one roof, RaceWorz has grown into a traveling automotive festival that blends competition, creativity, and connection. Over the years, it’s expanded from its Bay Area roots to iconic venues in Sonoma, Sacramento, Southern California, Arizona, and even Norway.
Now in its 13th year, the event continues to embody its founding vision: “More than just cars — it’s culture, community, and energy.”
Bakersfield 2025: Fuel, Fun & Family
This year’s edition brought the thunder to Famoso Dragstrip in Bakersfield, CA, delivering three days of tire-shredding excitement, show-stopping builds, and nonstop entertainment.
Everywhere you turned, there was something to experience — drag races screaming down the strip, drift demos filling the air with smoke, car show competitors polishing for judging, vendors lined up under the California sun, and the pulse of live DJs keeping the crowd moving.
Food trucks sizzled, models posed, and the smell of high-octane fuel and adrenaline hung thick in the air.
“RaceWorz has always been about more than cars,” said Marshall, the event’s Media Marketing Director. “It’s about the culture, the people, and the energy that connects all of us. Matt, Wayne, and I built this event from the ground up to give enthusiasts a place to show what they’ve created — and to celebrate it together, side by side at the track.”
Built by Enthusiasts, For Enthusiasts
The planning for RaceWorz is no small feat. Each show is a year-long process that involves venue logistics, marketing campaigns, community partnerships, and detailed coordination among racing, drifting, and show teams.
Despite its large scale, the core team remains small and tight-knit — comprising just the three founders and a few key collaborators who manage specific aspects, such as the drift zones and drag racing competitions.
“It’s a labor of love,” Marshall shared. “We’re constantly evolving the event to keep it fresh and engaging for both new visitors and long-time supporters.”
Igniting the Next Generation
This year, RaceWorz Bakersfield made a special effort to highlight the future of motorsports — hosting two Junior Dragster classes for ages 6–12 and 13–17.
“We’re so happy to involve youth in the automotive scene,” said Marshall. “The next generation is what keeps the culture alive. Seeing those kids suit up and race was one of the best parts of the weekend.”
Their inclusion added heart to the horsepower — a reminder that RaceWorz isn’t just an event; it’s a movement aimed at keeping car culture thriving for decades to come.
2025 Event Highlights
Drag Racing: Full competition brackets kept the crowd cheering as builds of all levels — from street sleepers to purpose-built drag cars — battled down the strip.
Show Car Arena: 300+ vehicles filled the show section, each reflecting the diversity of the community — from classic JDM icons and muscle cars to lowriders, exotics, and full custom builds.
Lifestyle & Entertainment: DJs, models, and vendors kept the vibe alive all weekend, creating the perfect balance between motorsport adrenaline and community festival energy.
Vendors & Food: Local businesses and national brands alike came out to support, feeding the crowds and fueling the experience.
From the Organizer’s Seat
“RaceWorz has always been about more than cars. It’s about the culture, the people, and the energy that connects all of us. Matt, Wayne, and I built this event from the ground up to give enthusiasts a place to show what they’ve created — and to celebrate it together, side by side at the track.”

Planning & Production
Founded: 2013
Location: Bay Area, CA
Frequency: Annual events across multiple states and countries
Core Team: 3 owners (Matt, Marshall, Wayne) + small support crew
Each year’s event takes nearly 12 months of preparation — from securing venues and booking entertainment to coordinating competitors and promoting across digital and grassroots platforms.
“You have to love what you do,” Marshall said. “Otherwise, you’ll never make it past the first burnout.”
Looking Ahead
With 2025’s Bakersfield event in the books, the RaceWorz team already has their eyes on 2026.
“We plan to bring the event back for another year of excitement,” Marshall said. “Dates and venues will be announced soon, but one thing’s for sure — we’re coming back bigger and better.”
His advice to those hoping to start their own automotive event?
“Stay connected with other promoters. Don’t schedule over each other — cross-promote and build together. We can all help each other grow in this business.”
Legacy in Motion
After more than a decade of hosting unforgettable shows, RaceWorz continues to set the bar for what an automotive event can be. It’s not just about speed or shine — it’s about connection, creativity, and community.
At Famoso Drags, that spirit roared louder than ever. The smoke may have cleared, but the memories — and the echo of those engines — linger long after.
RaceWorz: 13 years strong. Where horsepower meets heart, and car culture comes alive.
