From billet internals to a Precision 6466 turbo
Jason Neering is a 12-year veteran of the Florida car scene who has seen it all — the rises, the fades, and everything in between. A self-taught builder who found his craft not as a career, but as a way to cope. For Jason, the garage isn't just where he works on cars; it's where he finds peace. Growing up in the 90s, his journey started with a Veilside Fortune RX-7 — a car that taught him as many hard lessons as it gave him thrills. After losing that car in a devastating way, Jason set his sights on something more reliable, something he could pour his heart and soul into. A 1994 Toyota Supra showed up on his radar from a contact on the West Coast, and it had everything he needed. Twelve years and over 1001 horsepower later, Jason's Supra is proof that when building is your therapy, the results speak for themselves.
THE BUILD BREAKDOWN
ENGINE INTERNALS
The foundation of any 1001HP 2JZGTE build starts deep inside the block, and Jason left nothing to chance. The bottom end was rebuilt with Aris billet pistons and Pauter connecting rods — two of the most trusted names in forced induction builds. APR headstuds hold everything together under extreme boost pressure, while the crank was micro-polished and balanced to ensure smooth, high-RPM operation. The entire process ensures the internals can handle the brutal punishment that comes with pushing a 2JZ well beyond its factory limits.
Key Components: Aris billet pistons, Pauter connecting rods, APR headstuds, micro-polished and balanced crankshaft, ATI crank dampener
CYLINDER HEAD & VALVETRAIN
The head was where Jason really went to work. A full Pro-Series port and polish job was carried out on the head, paired with a professional valve job to ensure airtight sealing at high cylinder pressures. Rev valvetrain components were fitted throughout — 33.5mm stainless steel intake valves, 29mm stainless steel exhaust valves, titanium retainers, and dual valve springs to keep everything sealed and stable at extreme RPM. BC 272 intake and exhaust camshafts dictate the breathing rhythm of the engine, and Golden Eagle billet cam gears lock in the precise timing needed to squeeze out every last bit of power. Power House Racing billet valve covers and a plug cover finish the head off with both function and show-quality looks.

FORCED INDUCTION & INTAKE
The single biggest upgrade on this build is the Precision 6466 NextGen turbocharger. This is a turbo that means serious business — capable of producing well over 1000HP on the right setup, and it sits perfectly in the 2JZ bay. Twin Tial 44mm wastegates and dumptubes control boost precisely, while a Tial BOV vents excess pressure cleanly and safely. The intake side was fully upgraded with a Hypertune intake manifold fitted with a 90mm throttle body, drastically improving airflow into the engine. A Greddy front-mount intercooler keeps the charge air cool and dense, ensuring maximum power and protecting the internals under heavy boost.

FUEL SYSTEM
Feeding 1001 horsepower on E85 demands a bulletproof fuel system. Jason went with twin Walbro 450LPM fuel pumps housed in a Power House Racing triple hanger setup — this ensures consistent, high-volume fuel delivery even under the most aggressive boost conditions. Injector Dynamics 1700cc injectors handle the spray, and a Hypertune fuel rail distributes the fuel evenly across all six cylinders. The twin pump setup also offers redundancy — if one pump ever faltered, the other keeps the show going.

EXHAUST SYSTEM
Getting the gases out of a 2JZ as quickly as possible is critical at this power level. Future Fabrications supplied the twin-scroll exhaust manifold — a key piece that keeps the turbo spooling efficiently while reducing backpressure. A stainless steel downpipe connects the turbo to the rest of the system, and an Apexi stainless steel exhaust takes care of the rear end, giving the build both performance and a sound to match.
Key Components: Future Fabrications twin-scroll exhaust manifold, stainless steel downpipe, Apexi stainless steel exhaust
TRANSMISSION & CLUTCH
With over 1000HP hitting the drivetrain, the transmission and clutch have to be up to the job. Jason fitted a Tiltan steel flywheel paired with a Tiltan dual-disc clutch — a combination built to handle extreme torque loads without slipping or overheating. The V160 gearbox itself is one of the strongest manual transmissions ever fitted to a Supra, and with the right clutch setup behind it, it's more than capable of handling this level of power.
Key Components: Tiltan steel flywheel, Tiltan dual-disc clutch, V160 transmission
SUSPENSION & CHASSIS
Handling 1001HP requires more than just grip — it requires precision. HKS Hipermax R coilovers form the backbone of the setup, delivering adjustable ride height and damping to suit everything from street to track use. TRD swaybars on both the front and rear keep the car planted and responsive through the corners, while a TRD front strut bar and Cuso rear strut bar add rigidity to the chassis. Megan Racing traction rods, front upper control arms, and rear control arms round out the geometry changes, ensuring the car behaves exactly how Jason wants it to at any speed.

BRAKES
Stopping power is just as important as horsepower. Jason fitted a Brembo big brake kit up front, paired with stainless steel brake lines throughout the car. Brembo's reputation for high-performance braking needs no introduction — this setup gives Jason the confidence to push the car hard knowing the stops will always be there when he needs them.
Key Components: Brembo big front brake kit, stainless steel brake lines
ENGINE MANAGEMENT & EXTRAS
The brain behind the build is the Haltech Nexus R3 ECU — one of the most capable standalone engine management systems on the market. It handles all the tuning, fuel mapping, and boost control with precision. A Haltech IC7 display gives Jason live data at a glance from behind the wheel. An RX oil catch can keeps the intake clean, and the build also features a nitrous oxide system for those moments when 1001HP on the bottle just isn't enough.
Key Components: Haltech Nexus R3 ECU, Haltech IC7 display, RX oil catch can, nitrous oxide system, Power House Racing pulleys
EXTERIOR & INTERIOR
This isn't just a track weapon — it's a show car too. The entire exterior was fitted with a full custom widebody kit and a custom APR wing, giving the Supra an aggressive, purposeful stance. Custom LED rear lights and custom front headlights bring the lighting up to a modern standard, while a hand-cut hood adds a personal touch to the bodywork. The whole car was finished in Jason's signature candy red paint — a colour that demands attention at any show or meet. Inside, a full leather interior keeps things refined, with carbon fibre trim adding a premium touch throughout. A Sparco R333 racing seat and Sparco steering wheel put the driver experience front and centre, and a Greddy weighted shift knob rounds off the cabin.

WHEELS & TYRES
Rolling on E6 Carbon three-piece rims wrapped in Toyo R888R tyres, Jason's Supra has both the look and the grip to back up every single one of those 1001 horses. The R888R is a serious semi-slick tyre, built for maximum grip on the street and track alike.

FUTURE PLANS
Jason isn't done yet. Next on the list is a set of carbon fibre side skirts and a carbon fibre targa top — adding both weight savings and even more visual presence to an already stunning build. With Jason's track record, it's safe to say whatever comes next will be just as impressive as everything that's already been done.
For Jason, this Supra isn't just a car. It's 12 years of passion, patience, and personal therapy — all wrapped up in 1001 horsepower of pure Toyota muscle.
