Mancunion born, I'm a courier now by trade, wasn't always, I used to do quite a few different jobs, my passion as always been cars and vans, I have always bought n sold, customised, repaired and modded them myself including this one my Lexus is200.
My family are all car people and have always been in the business, my dad used to repair the Police cars in Manchester when we were kids, if they banged them during the night they would call on him to repair them so they wouldn't get into trouble, my younger brother and I followed my dad into the car repair side.
This was In the days of Fiestas and Escorts, I always had Fords, my brother did the body and paint I did the mechanics end, now cars are far more advanced, I got out of the car selling side a long time ago but have always modded and done the work on my own, my very first car was a Vauxhall Viva, no I'm not that old I love cars for their shape and look, more than power, my all-time favourite was my Vauxhall nova, we used to swap the engine and put an Astra GTE engine in, and leave the car looking like a shed, thus a sleeper was born, lots of fun at the traffic lights. As I aged the cars got more expensive and better.
This was my first car, at Silverstone track day, I tried to race Ferrari's lol
I first bought a Lexus brand new, as I drove to London every day, and needed comfort. I was forever hooked on the Lexus. I've had a few of these models, they drive so well, crap slow but so comfy, my favourite colour is metallic blue, all my previous cars were blue, this metallic grey as grown on me it looks sick
I've Modded most of this car, from the angel eyes to reshaping the rear bumper, the bumper I had to reshape, some of the crap we buy of eBay it was way too big and looked awful on, so I cut it, reshaped with fibreglass, fitted it to the original bumper, think it now looks much better
I actually bought this car just for the interior, as it is all leather and was going to go in my Blue car, two days after buying this, someone smashed into my Blue one, so I had to strip that one and build this Grey one up, I stripped the entire car, undercoated the entire car underneath with 5 coats of underseal, she ain't going to rot again when I got her she had a massive hole in the boot and wells, the suspension was snapped both on one side, I did all the welding work, replaced the struts, these are just standard with lowered 35m springs, I live in an area where I really can't go to low, because of all the sleeping policemen,
I put the supercharger in which is all D.I.Y it is not a kit, after looking around and seeing how much a kit was, listening to other people, it was easier to do this and sauce it all my self, the cradle for the charger is the TTE version, the charger itself is a Mercedes EATON M62, it as a 155mm pulley with a 5 groove belt, the Bypass valve is of a Mini Cooper, the pipework was all second hand, I just picked up from here and there, you do need to upgrade the injectors and buy a fuel cut defender, these are easily found on eBay, all in it cost me around £700 for and extra 70-80 Bhp with an instant speed unlike the turbo, and once you hear the whine of the charger you are hooked
The car is pretty much finished now, I've replaced the brakes, struts, rear bumper added a skirt, and side lips, front lip I cut and shaped from another lip, added Focus RS vents to the bonnet, this took me ages, not to do it, just to pluck up the courage to do it, I didn't want to mess it up and they are miss-matched, so be careful if your planning on doing this yourself, do a lot of measuring lol, added angel eyes I made from an eBay kit, my friend painted the car after I added everything so now she is looking might fine.
I'm a member of quite a few car groups and clubs Jap2Jap, LEX nation, ExtremeBHP, IS200 owners club, Phantom Cruisers, UKhot cars, JCM - jap cars manchester, Unity car cruise plus many more as you can imagine, I go to plenty of shows, meets. I've even done some in the USA and Canada, theirs are massive, they are a fantastic place to hang out and meet new people, new contacts, ideas tips n tricks,
I love finding older customised cars, but my passion is Jap cars,
My dream car? dam this is hard, I love so many cars, think it has to be a GTR or a 67 Mustang
