My name is Viet Cao. I am 33 years old and im from the Southern California city of Anaheim. I literally live 5 minutes from Disneyland and hear the fireworks every night. I am a heavy-duty mechanic. I work on buses for Metro MTA Los Angeles. In my spare time, usually, im usually hang out with my wife and family. I enjoy going to the gym and I do play alot of Pc gaming. Definitely love going out and exploring to find new restaurants and food to eat.

What or who got you into cars?

Growing up my family had auto mechanic shops and I pretty much grew up around the industry my whole life. When I would get off school most of my days would be at my dads and uncles shop hanging around. Definitely, when the fast and furious movies came out they just help spark the passion for it even more. Especially during the high school years, we were known as the "car guy group*.

Why did you choose this car?

I remember when I was in high school I had two friends of mine who had a white and blue mr2. For me during that time and age, I was so amazed how two high school students had these 2 seater turbo sports cars during their JR year of high school. Being in the same group of friends the Toyota mr2 just grew on me and of course, I would always get to ride with them. So my senior year of high school my dad bought me my first car. It was a 1991 Toyota Mr2 non-TurboWhat made you customise this car?

For me, alot of the mr2 community pretty much looks the same. Aside from having different rims. Alot of the Mr2 owns run the same side skirts and front lip. I just wanted to be a little different from everyone else and I do believe I accomplished that look of being different from all the other Mr2's

What does it feel like owning this car?

It feels amazing and it’s also kind of an honour to own a piece of history. A 90s mid-engine sports car. It definitely turns heads around driving on the road. There are even times where people have no idea what kind of car it is because they have never seen one on the road because it’s kind of rare.

What makes it unique?

I think what makes my car unique is that it’s definitely different from all the other cars you see on the road. For example civics, wrx, brz you name it. It’s pretty rare when you see an mr2 on the road anymore.

Future Plans

My future plan for the car is currently going to install poon headlights also carbon fibre. Eventually, do a 2gr V6 swap. Redo all the bushings on the car. Install a big brake kit. In the future hopefully have the whole front end carbon fibre out.

Advice

It’s an older car so it’s going to need alot of work. Just take your time with it. Build it the way you want it.

What did the car scene bring you?
