My name is Dominic Tarplee,

I am 20 years old from Poole, Dorset. I work at the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch hospital as a cardiology inventory controller. I love anything and everything to do with cars, I must admit I do have a soft spot for old classics!

You can find me on Instagram @S90_DWT where I try to post regularly how my car is coming along.

I own a Ford Fiesta Zetec S Ecoboost, but what drove me to get a Ford was from living with my brother who is majorly into Fords, he introduced me to shows like Ford fair and local Ford meets, which I think is the main reason I developed a passion for fords and what pushed me to own my own.

After reading the old max power magazines when I was young, I knew that I wanted to own my very own modified car and to join the car community.

My fiesta (the new "classic boy racer car") is currently running 125bhp as standard and has a turbocharged engine that I have managed to get a top speed of just over 120mph at local track days and does 0-60 in around 8 seconds. After owning this car for just under a year I have spent just over £2000 on modifications, so far this includes Fifteen52 Deltona alloys, 50mm lowering springs, KMS Hurricane exhaust with the KMS rear diffuser, HID kit, Bonnet vents, spoiler risers and a few decorative changes eg sequential mirror indicators, gel badges and coloured interior lights. I am going to be completely honest, I have not carried out all the work myself, I have supplied parts to friends and companies to fit them as my patience runs out quickly when working on the car. However I did fit my alloys myself whilst it was getting dark as I was too excited to wait until the next day, I have also done the simple odd jobs myself but anything drastic I don't trust myself doing.

My Bonnet vents were supplied and fitted by Nick Wiley, he did an incredible job even if it was nerve wracking watching someone cut into my bonnet, I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking at getting bonnet vents as he does a cracking job at a fair price, you can find his page on Facebook at "Vented by Nick Wiley"

My springs were fitted by one of my good friends Ross Smith and were supplied by Ben Smith at DRS Cornwall, both were fantastic!

My KMS diffuser was fitted by Woodville Stretton in Poole, they provided a great service and time frame, even though the job was a nightmare. Last but by no means least my exhaust was fitted by a good family friend, who has done a lot of work on my previous cars and also my family's cars, and always does an incredible job!

My Fiesta isn't my first car, I have had two 1.2litre Corsas which were cheap, cheerful and easy going for my first year or so of driving.

In my eyes when modifying a car; the car will never be finished. So far my future plans are to get the car pushing 180bhp, this would include getting a stage 2 induction kit and intercooler plus a stage 2 remap, I would also like to add more decorative changes such as splitters, tinted rear LED lights, custom headlights and a Delta Styling spoiler.

I am currently an admin of a small group in the southwest called 'No Drama Cars' we are a bunch of car enthusiasts who all share the same passion, it is important to all of us that anyone in the group doesn't discriminate against anyone on what they drive, everyone is treated like family in this group. Groups that I would recommend would have to be Ford All Stars, Rolling Oval Club and Ford Mania; they are all Ford fanatics that wouldn't hesitate to give you advice if you asked for it, they are all very welcoming when joining the groups.

I am still yet to enter any car competitions as the car is nowhere near competition ready yet unfortunately, I attend most meets both local and far including shows/meets in Cornwall, Plymouth, Dorset, Bristol and London but the main show I attend is Ford Fair at Silverstone track, it is an incredible day out with an amazing atmosphere, I find it hard to leave without a car full of bits and bobs that I have bought from various stalls throughout the day. If anyone here ever sees me at a meet or show please come and have a chat, the best thing about the car scene is all the people you can meet!

My dream car has to be a Mk2 Ford Focus RS because it is a fantastic looking car standard and modified, and of course it is always a head turner. A plus side with the RS is that there is a wide range of modifications available and in my opinion it is a truly iconic car!
