Eric - Ford Fiesta ST3
I have always been into my Fords and have always loved owning them. Don’t get me wrong I like other cars for example Jap cars, but I don’t know… there’s just something about the way my Fiestas’ drive, handle, deliver power etc. I love them!!

Hi all,
My name is Eric, I am 19 years old and I reside in Jersey, Channel Islands.
I currently work as a HR Officer for a global Financial Services Company, and I love every second of it. It’s something that I’ve definitely never thought that I would be doing, but I fell into it and chose to stay in the HR industry, and it was the best decision I’ve made. It can definitely be quite challenging and busy at times, but I like that. It keep me on my toes!

I own a Performance Blue MK6 Fiesta ST, and a freshly wrapped, Hulk themed MK7 Fiesta ST in Gloss Green Envy.
I have always been into my Fords and have always loved owning them. Don’t get me wrong I like other cars for example Jap cars, but I don’t know… there’s just something about the way my Fiestas’ drive, handle, deliver power etc. I love them!!
I usually drive the MK6 ST daily, and drive the MK7 ST on the weekends.
The MK6 is just fun to drive, handles really well and it’s a little project for me too which will help me learn more about cars.
The MK7 is definitely my favourite though, I’ve always wanted one ever since I’ve been driving and told myself that I’d get one someday. I was fortunate enough to be in Full Time Employment at the age of 17, which meant that when I turned 18 I could afford one and I got one brought over from the UK in Spirit Blue. It’s definitely the best decision I’ve made; I don’t regret it at all!!
What got me into the car scene? I’ve always liked cars since a young age, but my friends definitely got me into the car scene more. All of my close friends are into their cars, which definitely inspires me more.
It’s not just about cars though, it’s about the laughs you have with your mates, the long drives with a trail of 30+ cars behind and in front of you, the thrills, the bonds, the friendships, the loyalties. We usually go to a Car Park and chill together, laugh about the stupidest of things, show each other our cars etc.
Thanks to cars, all of that is possible.
In terms of me growing up with Petrol heads… No, I wouldn’t say I did to be honest. Although my auntie and uncle used to own quite a few modified cars back in the day, for example a clean Peugeot 106 GTI.
For me what makes my car unique and stand out from the crowd I would say is the colour scheme.
There’s so many MK7 ST’s about, in the UK mainly, and I didn’t want it to be the same as all the others. Hence why I went with a crazy colour scheme, to stand out from the rest and to be different. I love the original spirit blue, but I didn’t want to be the same as everyone else.
We only have about 6 Fiesta ST’s here in Jersey, but even then that’s still too much!
Every time something gets done to my car, we always encounter a problem – nothing is always straight forward… You just need to be patient (I’m certainly not) and if you have great friends like I do, they’ll help you and make the challenges easier to overcome!
I would consider my car an import, TrustFord brought it over to Jersey from the UK for me
Would I recommend people buying the MK7? I’m definitely biased when it comes to this question. I’ve driven loads of cars and really liked them, but in my opinion there’s something about the way the ST’s drive that pushes me towards them more. They’re fun, won’t cost you a fortune and there’s a versatile amount of modifications that you can do to them.
The ST’s come standard with 180hp & 225ftlb torque, but I’ve gotten it custom mapped so it’s currently running 230bhp & 285 ftlb torque which is quite an increase.

I have definitely not done the work myself. I didn’t grow up learning about cars so once I got my first car that’s when I started learning. Having then met Arnie, who also works at Sign Solutions, (Instagram: @jsy_evo_beast) he’s showed & taught me so much about cars as well as creating one of the best friendships I have and I’m forever grateful. He’s supportive, encourages me to go all out with my cars and be different, he’s patient and takes his time to explain things. Thanks to him my cars looks the way they do. A big thanks goes to him!
My wrap was done by Sign Solutions Jersey (Instagram:@signsolutionsjersey) and they did an incredible job. They really do go above and beyond with their wraps, and I’m pleased to say that I am incredibly happy with it.
Waxed Shine C.I. Jersey ceramic coated the car and do an amazing job!
My custom map was done by Sports & Racing Motors who also did an amazing job, and did just what I asked for.
The MK7 was not my first car, in fact my first car was a black MK5 Fiesta Zetec S. Absolutely loved it although I only got to enjoy it for 3 weeks until I stacked it…
It was pretty standard, apart from a Cat-back exhaust, an induction kit and coil overs.
I don’t think you can ever ‘finish’ a car. There’s always more to do. I have some plans for my MK7, for example get a new custom set of front lights, I also want to up the power a bit more and a few other things.
We have a group called Jersey Modified here in Jersey, and there’s quite a different selection of cars in this group. Although we don’t meet as often anymore because of Covid-19, we’re mostly friends with everyone and keep in touch quite often.
We don’t have car competitions here in Jersey, but we have a few car shows, for example the Annual Jersey Motoring Show which is great fun. Jersey Modified usually have a stand every year, and my MK7 was there, but it wasn’t wrapped yet!
A group of us went to FittedUK last year which was really good. We took our cars over and it was the first time I’d ever driven in the UK, but it was fun.
A small group of us want to go to Japfest, and Modified Nationals next year. Can’t wait!!
The next car is definitely the Focus RS, either the MK2.5 or 3. I’ve always wanted one so I guess I’ll treat myself when the time is right :-)
Who knows what will come next after the RS! I’ll just have to wait and see!
Thank you for reading my article and don’t forget to follow me on Instagram.
Also a big thank you to my pal Carla for giving me the opportunity to show off my pride and joy.
Eric
