I’m Gregg Blackmon, I’m 31 years old, and I drive a 2008 BMW M3. I live in San Jose, CA. My passion for cars started with my late father showing pictures of his stunning 72 Roadrunner. From there, my father would take me and my brothers to car shows which further sparked my interest.

It did not take long for me to fully fall in love with the car scene at a young age which of course further sparked my interest in attending and participating in shows since then. In 2021, I bought my first BMW and began modifications on it, and since the first mod, ive been hooked ever since. Working to make my M3 one of the best in the game has been my ultimate goal. Being able to be a part of a community of car lovers like me is something I definitely do not take for granted.

My dad bought a 72 Roadrunner which I learn how to drive with. From that point on I always wanted something fast and loud. I choose this car because I had a gas guzzler at the time and wanted something a little more practical for daily use, but was still fast and exciting.

Owning and driving a BMW is an adrenaline rush because it is low to the ground, loud, and fast. Having a DCT transmission makes it even better because shifting through the gears feels like I’m creating poetry for the streets. I think my car is unique to me, I think it's different for different people for sure. For me, what makes a car interesting is usually characteristics that are impossible to quantify and difficult to define.

Certain cars just have that unique combination of parts that seems in the end to make magic. For me, it is also more about the driving experience than what the car looks like. As it has a personality, a character that is hard to define, but mostly it's a car that communicates to the driver very well what is going on with the road and the engine. Good engine sounds and good feedback from the road are two main things. But there is also this indescribable feeling where the faster you go the happier the car seems to be.

The best way I can describe the car culture is it's an escape from reality in many ways. Many of us started getting into cars at a young age, whether it was playing with Toy cars and modifying our dream cars, handing our dad tools in the garage, or maybe even going to the circle race track and or the drag strip. Some of us started messing around with cars when we finally got our licenses, as I did, either way, cars are a huge part of our lives and our car friends are more like family.  It's a feeling that only true enthusiasts will understand.

Dream Car

1969 Chevy Camaro Super Sport. If you're dying to have a classic in your garage, this is the one.
