Listen To Rich Campbell's Honda Accord EX-L: An Inspiring Audiobook
From Humble Beginnings to Auto Customization Expert
My name is Rich Campbell, and I'm an outgoing jokester who loves my fiancée and our three children. My journey into the world of car customization began during my time in the military, which helped me break out of my shy shell. After my service, I attended KSU for Art Education but eventually returned home to North Carolina in 2001, where I’ve worked in the auto customization business ever since.
As a kid, I was inspired by my father and uncle, who were big into model cars. I had a knack for drawing and spent hours sketching cars and trucks. My passion for cars only grew stronger during my time in the Army, where I was exposed to a diverse mix of cultures and backgrounds, all sharing a love for custom vehicles. My journey into car modification began in 1993 with a Ford Ranger, and by 1995, I had transitioned to a 1995 Honda Civic. From that point on, it was all Honda.
The Red Accord and the Birth of a New Project
Before my current build, I owned a red 2016 Accord Sport, fully customized and used as my daily driver. However, I decided to buy a Civic for daily use and transform the Accord into something special, starting with the wheels and air setup from the red car. But fate had other plans—I hit a deer (Bambi, to be specific) and nearly totaled the car.
That incident was a turning point. With just nine weeks until the Slammed Enuff show in Gatlinburg in 2022, I embarked on an intense build. The result? The car won Best Wrap and Best Accord at the show. Yes, you heard that right—a complete transformation from stock to showstopper in just nine weeks!
A Love-Hate Relationship with a Marble Masterpiece
This car evokes strong reactions—people either absolutely love it or strongly dislike it. The most striking feature is undoubtedly the marble wrap, which covers the entire car. While some have compared it to a rolling countertop, I’ve embraced the uniqueness. Few have dared to attempt a full marble wrap, and I’m proud to be one of them.

The Work
Most of the work was done by me, with a few exceptions. New Era Upholstery handled the custom leatherwork, and Union Customs applied the wrap. Everything else was a solo project—just me, myself, and I.
Future Plans: A New Look on the Horizon
As much as I love the current look, I’m always thinking about the next phase. A new color is on the horizon, so keep your eyes open for the next evolution of this build!
Shout Outs
A big shout out to my boys and girls at Chozen, Premier Window Tinting/Michael Smith, Cody Hensley of Tintdaddy’s Auto Center, Lucas of SSEuros, Kaleb Dandrow of Unique Customs Wraps, Josue of New Era Upholstery, and Sam of Klean Society. Special thanks to my fiancée Melissa “my baby” Gid, Chris of White Tire, and Uryan Byers.
Dream Car
If I could have any car, it would be a 1961 Impala bubble top. There's something timeless about the body lines and design that I’ve always admired.
