Introduction

Hello, I’m Simon Deplacido, known as DJ Plug, the proud owner of the famous orange Nova, also known as Pluggys Max Power Nova. Growing up with a dad who was a car trader, my love for cars started at an early age. Now, at 17, I've turned my passion into a reality with my custom 1992 Vauxhall Nova.

The Journey Begins

As a teenager, I was captivated by the souped-up fast motors with body kits. After passing my driving test within three months of turning 17, I began my car journey with a SEAT Ibiza System Porsche. Over the next two years, I went through 23 cars, mostly due to my boy racer antics in local car parks. Sunday night cruises were a ritual, and in 1999, I got my first Nova, which I still have today. The car has seen many changes, with the most significant transformations occurring in the past two years, known as Phase 1 and Phase 2. Now, she sits looking aggressive with her Max Power looks and custom paint.

Why the Vauxhall Nova?

Boy racers have a soft spot for the Nova, making it the perfect car to embody the Max Power spirit. Here's what I've done to customize it:

• 17" MVK custom-painted alloys

• Kingdom front bumper

• Pikachu spoiler

• Custom side skirts

• Bad boy bonnet

• Custom rear bumper

• Blacked-out windows

• 4 Branch Manifold Super Chipped from the 90s (rare as hen's teeth)

• Sebring exhaust

• K&N filter

Building the Dream

What makes my car unique is the custom work done entirely by me and my pal. Owning this car is the best feeling, especially since it's parked in a custom-built pub in my garden. It’s my piece of artwork that I can admire while enjoying a cold pint. Driving her is an experience like no other. I’ve nicknamed her the Neck Snapper because people literally snap their necks to stare when I drive by.

The rainbow flake paint adds an extraordinary level of visual appeal to my Nova. This custom paint, imported from West Coast Customs in America, creates a shimmering, iridescent effect that catches the light in mesmerizing ways. The flake's ability to reflect multiple colors as light hits it from different angles makes the car look like it's constantly changing hues, giving it a dynamic and eye-catching appearance.

High-Quality Finish

Rainbow flake paint is renowned for its high quality and durability. The flakes are mixed into the paint in a way that ensures a smooth application and a long-lasting finish. This quality ensures that my Nova’s stunning look remains vibrant and intact for years, even under harsh weather conditions or frequent driving.

• SRI interior (for now)

• Koni suspension all around, lowered 60mm

• Calibra V6 brakes, vented

• Custom paint with rainbow flake imported from West Coast Customs in America

The Work Behind the Magic

All the work on my car was done by my good lifetime friend Daz and me at Spray Machine Ltd in Leeds.

Future Plans

With the exterior looking as epic as possible, my future plan is to Max Power the interior with a full custom design. This will include loads of ICE (In-Car Entertainment), and I plan to live DJ out of the boot.
