A Decade of Automotive Passion

For over a decade, the Filipino Fiesta Car Show has been a cornerstone event in Sacramento, California, blending the rich tapestry of Filipino culture with the dynamic world of custom automobiles. Held annually at the Jose Rizal Community Center, this event has grown in both size and significance, attracting car enthusiasts and cultural aficionados from across Northern California

Organized by Jazel Gonzalez, alongside Team LoveHATE and Team Neu Era, the car show has become a testament to community engagement and cultural pride. Jazel's journey began in 2008 when he proposed the idea to his father, a member of the Filipino Council. Initially met with skepticism, the concept gained traction two years later, leading to the inaugural event. Since then, Jazel has dedicated six months each year to orchestrating this celebration, emphasizing the importance of providing a positive outlet for youth and car enthusiasts alike.

"This event is a way for me to provide a positive car event for like-minded people to come out and share their passion," says Jazel. "The car scene has a bad reputation due to illegal 'sideshows.' I'm trying to bring balance."

Northern California's Finest Builds

The 2025 Filipino Fiesta Car Show did not disappoint, featuring an eclectic mix of vehicles that highlighted the diversity and creativity of the automotive community. Clubs such as Team Elevate, NVUS, Redemptionz, Stay Humble, Wyld Kardz, and Dropz presented a stunning array of builds, ranging from old-school classics to modern imports, muscle cars, Euros, lowriders, JDM, and track builds.

As a photographer, the variety of vehicles provided endless opportunities to capture unique angles and details. Each car told its own story, reflecting the individuality and dedication of its owner. The challenge wasn't finding a favorite—it was choosing just one among so many exceptional builds.

A Culinary Journey Through Filipino Flavors

Beyond the impressive automotive displays, the event offered a culinary experience that transported attendees straight to the heart of the Philippines. Numerous food vendors served up a delectable array of Filipino dishes, each with its own unique twist. From savory adobo to sweet halo-halo, the flavors were as diverse as they were delicious.

"Finally, the food!!! Holy crap, the food!!! If you love Filipino food, this is heaven!!!" The variety and authenticity of the dishes left a lasting impression, with each vendor offering a distinct take on traditional recipes.

Insights from the Organizer: Jazel Gonzalez

Jazel's commitment to the event goes beyond logistics; it's about fostering a sense of community and cultural pride. "Running a show requires a few things. Keep the masses happy as best you can. Remember that you'll never have a perfect show. Listen to their feedback. Small changes between every event will bring you closer, so don't get discouraged," he advises.

His dedication is evident in the seamless execution of the event and the positive atmosphere that permeates throughout. By integrating elements of Filipino culture with the universal language of car enthusiasm, Jazel has created a space where tradition and modernity coexist harmoniously.

r0cean11 Photography started as a hobby for me. I have been practicing for a little over 21 years now. I was building cars for SEMA before I dove into the world of automotive photography. I shot mainly for myself, as it was and remains a passion. I did not get serious until the last car I built was totaled. I now shoot and write for Stance Auto Magazine, PASMAG, 742 Marketing Events, Superlap Battle, Global Time Attack, RACEWORZ, and many other events around the USA. Automotive photography allows me to capture not just a car but the story behind it. Each builder puts a part of themselves in their vehicle. As a photographer, it’s my job to tell and share that story through my lens. You can check out my Facebook page for all my event coverage and many individual car shoots I have done.
