Max Verstappen says he is not ‘fuelled’ by rivalry with Lewis Hamilton
Max Verstappen says he is not ‘fulled’ by his rivalry with Lewis Hamilton, a rivalry which produced many exciting, but also dangerous moments in 2021.
Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton have been involved in a fierce on-track rivalry in 2021, which still fascinates the Formula 1 fans and the media.
Many on-track encounters between the two drivers throughout the season ended in collisions and crashes, and their rivalry also sometimes spilled off the track and into the media pen.
While their title fight unfortunately did not extend to 2022, mainly because of Mercedes’ car issues, when the two drivers got wheel to wheel again at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, the encounter ended in another collision.
It’s not surprising then, that in a recent interview, CNN asked Max about his rivalry with Lewis and Mercedes.
“It’s not something that necessarily fuels me,” Verstappen answered.
“There are more great brands out there as well, like Ferrari and McLaren. I hope all these great brands can fight for a title one day together.
“It’s something F1 wants and needs,” the Dutch driver concluded.
