The Last F1 Car For 2023 Revealed As Alpine Launches Their New A523

In what has been a jam-packed week of F1 2023 launches, it was Alpine who looked to save the best until last as they took the covers off the A523, a challenger that has already been in action on the track having completed a shakedown run at Silverstone.

The London launch started with a video that did a very good job of promoting the Alpine roadcar and Hypercar divisions, but eventually we did get to the part where Alpine drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, alongside team boss Otmar Szafnauer, all made their appearances. Sadly we did not get to listen in on their conversation about the A523’s “details”.

We were made to wait a little while longer, but at last the A523 was revealed, two for the price of one in fact as Alpine unveiled not only their blue and pink liveried challenger, but also a pink challenger in a nod to sponsor BWT, an approach similar to last season. This pink livery will be used at the first three rounds in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia.

Alpine will be hoping that the A523 picks up where its predecessor left off with the French outfit ending 2022 at the head of the midfield, and certainly on an upward trajectory.

The team may not have started that season in the position where they intended on being, but a string of productive upgrades saw Alpine establish themselves as the fourth-fastest team on the grid, duly securing P4 in the Constructors’ Championship.

It was not all positive though for Alpine, as the team would have secured that P4 spot much sooner if it were not for reliability issues which plagued them throughout the campaign, Fernando Alonso never shy to tell everyone that he bore the brunt of those.

The season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix then takes place at the same venue on the following weekend as the 2023 campaign gets underway.
