Justin Flores - 2008 Nissan 350z

Never thought I’d be an import guy being that I grew up around hot rods and drag racing, but here I am with my pride and joy! I always thought drifting was a rolling burnout competition since my best friend was into it, but once he finished his backyard sr20 s13 build and took me for a ride I was hooked!!

What’s up, my name is Justin, my friends call me J Flo. I’m from a small town Gregory, TX just 15 minutes outside Corpus Christi. I own this 2008 350Z, it’s been mine for just a little over 11 years now.

Never thought I’d be an import guy being that I grew up around hot rods and drag racing, but here I am with my pride and joy! I always thought drifting was a rolling burnout competition since my best friend was into it, but once he finished his backyard sr20 s13 build and took me for a ride I was hooked!!

We were fortunate enough we had a playground to learn drifting being his family owns a trucking lot with a huge skidpad. Being that events were 3-1/2 to 8 hours away depending on venue we got to practice locally without having to look over our shoulders and doing it illegally. We were two broke dudes just trying to get some driving in and watching YouTube and Vimeo videos of the east coast dude's thrash!! Here I am 13 years later, had the chance to drive with the dudes I looked up to since I got into drifting on the East Coast and managing my own events locally called Drift Corpus.

I mainly participate in Club Loose Texas, Drift Corpus, and some Lonestar Drift series events when work permits. I used to be into competitions as much as I could, though the seriousness was fun it was also expensive and stressful managing a car/team alone. I’m a full-time dad and husband and being able to travel with my family, have fun with my friends I call brothers now, driving for fun has been the best choice and has made me love drifting even more.

Travelling for events was hard, not only for me but from what I saw the locals. I was one of the few from the Corpus area at out of town events and drew a lot of attention when we would invite friends to watch us practice here locally from people who had never seen drifting live. So in 2012 a group of some of my best friends and I sought a parking lot we could rent from an abandoned dog track and we came up with Drift Corpus. We’ve grown so much from that time, we have more than a handful of great drivers locally now and I couldn’t be any more proud of them from the day they first started driving. We’ve currently moved to a newer bigger venue that has allowed us to educated new drivers, while others are on a much bigger track. I’m excited for what’s to come from Drift Corpus and its future!

Spec List

  • VPF built 3.7L hybrid swap
  • Tomei 264 Poncams
  • VPF 3” Intakes
  • Radium Fuel rails
  • 600CC DW Injectors
  • Reckless Motorsports Fuel Return Kit
  • Walbro 480 FP
  • Z1 ported intake manifolds
  • Long Tube Headers
  • ISR 3” blast pipes
  • Z1 6 puck clutch

Its current set-up makes 335whp tuned by Ben Lee with VPF Tuning. Though I’ve wanted to V8 swap it for the longest time, my HR motor hasn’t let me down yet, especially with VPF tuning it!

Suspension:-

  • FDF Mantis Angle Kit along with their rear camber and toe arms
  • BC Racing DS custom sprung Coilovers
  • Rear Dayton One Spherical bushings
  • Dual calliper kit
  • Nice & Good diff brace
  • Upgraded 370z axles.

The car runs and drives exactly how I want it to currently but power is always that thing we want more, so I recently purchased a VPF mid-mount turbo kit I will be installing here in the next couple of months to help put me around the 5-600WHP range I’m wanting. Other than that my plans with the car are to live life to its fullest and drive the hell out of it with my friends!!
