I’m Chloe's Dad and Claire's Husband. I've generally been a petrolhead for 40 years. A proud Scot by birth, and an adopted Welshy growing up in South Wales, now living and working in Surrey. I've had many different jobs over the years including running my own business before retraining as a secondary Product Design teacher just over a decade ago. Now middle management in a boarding school in sunny Surrey. Hobbies, well when I get a chance it's a case of playing with the Mustang or spending time with my family and renovating our family home in northern France, a real first world problem.
I can't really remember not being interested in cars. Saved to buy my first car when I was 16 by working 3 part-time jobs whilst still at school. Finally managed to buy a 25-year-old VW Beetle 1303S in sky blue and set to work refreshing and renovating it to its former glory. From that point on I guess you could say I caught the 'bug' and never looked back. Have been an events coordinator for a national car club and various other roles in different car groups, which I am still doing to this day. To mention a few @insanity_uk, @simplymustangsuk among others.
Modifying cars started with the first one and has not stopped until today. Only one car I have owned has escaped modification however it is on the list to do so lookout for a modified Skoda Superb Wagon Sportline in the not so distant future.

Primarily we have done this for our own enjoyment but it is great when fellow petrolheads or "normal" people compliment us in the supermarket car park or reach for the phones at traffic lights and junctions.
It's every day when I glance over and see the car and it puts a massive grin on my face to think that through all the ups and downs that have come our way we managed to achieve our goal of owning and driving our dream and be able to share this with our family and friends, making all the hard work and effort worth it. Keeps me going when things get tough and is a stress reliever from the pressures and stresses of work and life. Seeing the grin on my wife and daughters face when we start up the car and go for a drive is priceless.
Tip/Advice
A great resource for those looking at buying a mustang would be @simplymustangsuk, @mustangownersclub_of_gb along with @mustang6g.
Do not put MPG down on any list to compare with other cars you might be looking at, it ain't about miles per gallon, it is all about smiles per gallon nothing else.
Future Plans
Some custom rims one day when we can afford to design some. Then when I can convince the wife a pro charger or supercharger is not a silly idea and we do need 800+ bhp then that will be a good day but also to be the same day hell freezes over and pigs start flying, but as the eternal optimist, you just never know.
Not many bagged Mustangs in the UK and even fewer used as daily drivers.

The Air suspension was fitted by @intermotiv, everything else sourced and fitted by myself, all part of the fun. Lots of small subtle things to come with custom forged wheels the next big buy. This is our forever car and will eventually be handed down to my daughter as my legacy, but she is only 4, so got a good while to enjoy it first.
