Mina is from Cairo, Egypt, but moved to Massachusetts when he was seven years old. He currently resides about an hour outside of Boston, Massachusetts in a small New Hampshire town called Pelham. Mina works as a Pharmacy Technician but is currently taking steps toward a driving career by obtaining his CDL. Mina has been into cars ever since he was a young kid and remembers his dad bringing him little toy replicas to play with.

The two later started attending car shows and events together, and both shared the same passion for euros, specifically Mercedes-Benz, making those events that much more memorable. While Mina is into modifying his vehicles, his other passion is collecting diecast model cars focusing on ones from the Fast and Furious movies.

The dream to modify and build a Mercedes started at a young age for Mina. Being around so many at various events heavily influenced what he hoped to accomplish someday. After spending some time in the Volkswagen scene, Mina picked up his first Mercedes AMG car, a C55 AMG. This one was lowered on coilovers, which if you know the torn up, semi patched roads in New England, made driving no easy task. This car was eventually sold, and what came next was his 2015 CLA.

So what was the motivation behind wanting the CLA? Mina said that he was following his childhood dream, and seeing all of the bagged builds online persuaded him towards it even more. Not only did he want his to be bagged, but Mina had a goal of keeping things simple and clean. He stated “I try to do things differently from other builds I’ve seen. I add my own touches and I think that makes things stand out.” The three biggest things that stand out are the custom headlights, fully custom wheels, and the wrap. The wheels are Oz Racing Opera ii. These were originally two piece 18s, but have been converted to three-piece and stepped to 19s gold faces with brushed lips and custom center caps.

But why the Red Bull wrap? The idea came to Mina randomly one day when he was in his car on break at work. He had just picked up a coconut Red Bull, and looked at the white and silver can, thinking to himself “This might look cool on a car.” This prompted Mina to hit up his friend, Christian at East Coast Auto Styling, to make his idea come to life. They decided to go ahead with the design, but with a twist. Instead of the all-white and silver look, they did the brushed vinyl and gold decals to match the wheels and tie everything together.

Mina really enjoys the CLA because to him, it feels like the best of a Mercedes CC and a Volkswagen GTI combined into one car. Taking it out on drives is something he does to help relieve stress and get away for a little bit. Not only does he enjoy driving his vehicle, but parking it and looking back at all his hard work never fails to put a smile on his face. “I just think about how far it’s come,” he said. When asked how he felt about when other people notice it, Mina thinks “it’s pretty cool” because he remembers being a kid looking at cars at different shows and now he has one he can show off.

A few tips Mina would give someone who is new to the scene or looking to get involved would be to try being creative and find your own style, even though that might be hard to do these days. He also noted that you should never be afraid to ask a lot of questions. Finding parts, especially if you own a CLA, can take a while according to Mina, so be patient and you will have a clean build you’re happy with in the end.

When asked how the car scene has changed his life, Mina responded by saying it’s how he has met most of his friends, a lot of whom have helped out with the build. He credits the team he is in, Stance Inn, for meeting a lot of the people in his life currently. He would also like to give special thanks to Chance at Tailored Motorsports for doing the Air Ride suspension and rear diffuser and Danny at RIHIDS for the fully custom headlights. Mina also credits East Coast Auto Styling for the wrap as well as Nick at M-R Wheel Refinishing for building the wheels.

In the future, Mina hopes to get a molded wide body kit for his CLA. He is also considering new wheels, and maybe removing the wrap and painting the CLA a new color. Someday it will be time to move onto a new vehicle, and when that time comes, we might see Mina in either an E63S, or CL63S. Nonetheless, it will have to be a Mercedes.
