A Marine’s Mission on Four Wheels
For Toby Walters, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran from Denison, Texas, building trucks is about more than horsepower — it’s about purpose. After ten years overseas and a challenging transition to civilian life in 2014, Toby sought something meaningful. What started as a hobby became a calling.
Now 45, Toby is a proud disabled veteran working in construction, rebuilding homes and driveways. But his heart beats fastest in the garage — hands on the tools, transforming visions into reality.
Roots in Muscle Cars
Toby’s passion traces back to his childhood. Spending weekends at his uncle’s home next to a factory, a 1970 Plum Crazy Plymouth Super Bee roared into his earliest memories. Watching his father and uncle, both skilled Chrysler mechanics, Toby learned the value of hands-on craftsmanship at an early age.
“I knew one day I’d build something extraordinary — maybe even my dream car.”
A Tribute on Wheels
“Sgt. Honey Badger” isn’t just a build; it’s a statement. Named after Toby’s Marine Corps nickname, this 2024 Dodge RAM 2500 Rebel Power Wagon is a tribute to his fellow service members and those who gave their lives in service.
“I wanted something meaningful — something that stands as a symbol of strength and sacrifice.”
From Factory to Feature Build
Toby’s Power Wagon began as a factory custom order, transforming the standard Cummins-equipped Rebel into a fully realized vision. Everything was curated for off-road capability, aesthetic impact, and functional strength.
- Custom Shellshock wrap
- Kuat racks & EGR bed liner
- Carbon Off-Road winches
- Custom-built bumpers
- Exotic Innovations badges
- APEX custom headlights
- Custom Katskin leather interior installed by Rivas Upholstery
Suspension, Wheels, and Tech
- Leveling kit for stance and off-road balance
- TIS wheels + Hercules Tires
- OEM Rebel package tech and audio
- Each component assembled for performance and longevity
Toby worked hands-on with RDM Builds, Collin County Off-Road, and his sponsors, making sure the truck reflected his vision, his values, and his story.
Passion, Purpose, and People
The build goes beyond trucks — it’s a way for Toby to connect, inspire, and give back.
“After the Marines, I became introverted. The car world gave me purpose again.”
Through car culture, he rediscovered himself, made lifelong friends, and found an outlet for storytelling through metal, paint, and torque.
Looking Ahead
“Sgt. Honey Badger” is only the beginning. Toby teases a 1967 Dodge Crew Cab as his next project. His ultimate dream?
“A 1970 Dodge Super Bee, 426 HEMI, Plum Crazy — no question.”
Final Word
Toby Walters’ 2024 RAM 2500 Rebel is more than a truck — it’s a Marine’s tribute, a craftsman’s pride, and a gearhead’s dream. Each bolt, each finish, each feature tells a story of resilience, creativity, and fearless pursuit of passion.
? For anyone who sees it, this truck isn’t just a machine — it’s a legacy on wheels.
