Armando Forte - Mitsubishi Evo 7 (Fully Forged)

I currently drive a 2001 Mitsubishi Evolution VII with a Norris Design engine built for 700bhp. I recently swapped the engine and am currently running the engine in but should be good for around 370-400 with stock turbo!

Hi all, my name is Armando Forte, aged 30 and I live in Jersey, Channel Islands!

I currently work for a signage company called 'Sign Solutions' which involves assisting the island with numerous business signs and also includes automotive full wraps. I do enjoy what I do!

I currently drive a 2001 Mitsubishi Evolution VII with a Norris Design engine built for 700bhp. I recently swapped the engine and am currently running the engine in but should be good for around 370-400 with stock turbo!

I have been in the car scene for pretty much all my life! I must admit, what got me into the car scene was 'The Fast and the Furious' and must admit I have lived most of my life following their steps and I will never look back at everything I have done. It's a part of me.

My full spec list includes the following: -

  • - Manley I Beam Con Rods;
  • - ND Forged Pistons;
  • - ND Metal Head Gasket;
  • - H11 Head Studs and ARP (main stud kit);
  • - Full Shell Set;
  • - Removed Balanced Shafts;
  • - 272 Cams;
  • - ND Valve Spring and Shim Kit;
  • - ND Vernier Cam Pulleys;
  • - ND 3mm Lifter Set;
  • - 3 Port Boost Solenoid;
  • - Walbro 255Lph Fuel Pump;
  • - Apex Air Filter;
  • - Japspeed Manifold and Turbo Elbow;
  • - Trust 3" DownPipe and Straight Through Exhaust (cat delete);
  • - Tein Street Coilovers;
  • - Brembo Drilled and Vented Discs;
  • - Japan Racing JR12 wheels (9J ET25);
  • - Bridgestone Potenza S001 Tyres;
  • - Custom Vortex Widebody;  and
  • - Monster Sport Carbon Fiber Bonnet sprayed White with Wrapped Carbon Fibre Centre

As you can probably tell, the bodywork for an Evo VII is quite unique and was all done by me alongside a good friend of mine who owns his own body shop in Jersey "Tony Body Works".

The engine was built by Simon Norris at Norris Designs. I must admit, his work is truly amazing and cannot fault one thing for a very reasonable price. Once the engine arrived in Jersey it was fitted by the one and only 'Sports and Racing Motors Jersey' and their work too was reasonable.

The Evo was not my first car, actually, I have had many many cars but my first car was a Daihatsu Charade 1.3GLX, which is now a unique classic and don't see many in Jersey. For sure I have had to build up to the stage that I am at now but, this isn't over yet!

My Evo is not yet finished, well let's be honest here, NO project car is ever finished however, I still want to get an ND5 5R turbo alongside other things from Norris Designs. Takes a while for me to decide what I would like to do next, but I would say this is the next thing I have planned for the Evo!  I am a big JDM fan and follow many groups on social media. I would definitely recommend West Coast JDM on Facebook and without a doubt Stance Auto Mag.

Living in Jersey provides us with very limited choices regarding car shows. We have an annual show called 'The Jersey Motoring Festival' which I take part in when possible. We had also booked everything to take part in JapFest and Mod Nats however, due to the current circumstances everything was put on hold until 2021. I plan on participating in many car shows in future. I like to show what I have proudly built!

My dream car is without a doubt the Toyota Supra MK4 which I can say is next on my bucket list so don't forget to watch this space! :)

Hope you have enjoyed reading the little about my pride and joy.

Armando
