Have you ever wanted something only to find out that it just wasn't the best time for it to happen? Sometimes things occur at the right time, while other times they occur at the wrong time. As an event promoter for a major company, Wayne Raqueno has encountered thousands of amazing cars and trucks from the United States and overseas over the years! 

One particular standout was a unique V-Vision Widebody Lexus SC430 at an event in the Bay Area, created by Nat Huynh. It had an incredible appearance and was exceptionally well-crafted! Did Wayne desire to own a car like that? Absolutely! The only issue was that the car was red, which wasn't his favorite color, but it still looked fantastic. A few months later, he discovered that the SC430 was up for sale. Before he could further explore the car, it was sold and relocated to the East Coast, so it seemed like it wasn't meant to be.

Fast forward to 2019, and Wayne's new event promotion, Tuned Originals, was taking place in multiple locations across the USA. His girlfriend, Cyndi Lazo, developed a growing interest in cars and modifications. She found a car for sale online that caught her eye due to its striking color and overall appearance. Wayne was amazed to discover that it was the same Widebody Lexus he had initially wanted from the West Coast.

He went to see the car, which had a few cosmetic issues such as damage to the front bumper, non-working audio, and the need for a color and interior refresh. With the assistance of German Sanchez from GS Motorsports, the car underwent a thorough examination for potential mechanical issues. German recommended replacing all fluids with high-quality products, and Jose Mendoza from Rowe Motor Oil provided the necessary supplies. Wayne and Cyndi decided to acquire the car and work on the project together.

While Nat had worked his magic on the exterior with the rare V-Vision widebody and the BASF Red paint, Wayne focused on enhancing the car's interior. They reached out to Braum Racing for their Elite X seats with Diamond Stitched leather. Cyndi fell in love with the seats featuring red stitching. To match the interior, Midnight Custom Cars of Lewisville, TX, was contacted to reupholster the entire interior trim from tan to black Diamond Stitch with red accents, perfectly complementing the seats. The tan interior was completely replaced with black, and the audio system was next on the list.

With over two decades in the automotive industry, Wayne had established connections with various companies. He contacted Richard Wong from Sony to explore the possibility of showcasing their products in the Lexus. Given the exceptional quality of the equipment, installation had to be entrusted to an expert who could highlight all the intricate features. Modern Audio Solutions of McKinney, TX, was recommended for the meticulous task.

Great care was taken to create excellent sound and ensure the audio system could make an impact on the streets if needed. Byron Vance adds, "We made sure to keep the setup clean and visually appealing with plexiglass and abundant lighting from Lux Signs! It looks and sounds incredible." To enhance the electrical system, Shuriken Batteries were added. These high-end CCA batteries provided long-lasting power. Byron also recommended a separate battery for the audio system, and he custom fabricated a battery mounting kit for the trunk, ensuring a unique setup.

Why tamper with perfection? Nat paired the car with a set of very wide 19" Work Wheels that appeared to be tailor-made for the Lexus. When the car was sold and went to the East Coast, the subsequent owner, Nate Shanks, worked his magic and had the wheels redone in Chrome, making them truly stand out. For tires, they opted for the widely popular Toyo Tires, the same brand used on all of Wayne's cars, resulting in a perfect match. To provide exceptional stopping power, a substantial set of Big Brakes was ordered from Futura Design. Well-known within the VIP community, the Futura Brakes truly elevate the Lexus's presence.

Now that most of the Lexus had been meticulously customized to perfection, one of the most popular modifications involved a complete color swap. "We need to make the car OURS with a different color," says Cyndi. Instead of repainting the car, they approached ATD Automotive to transform the Lexus into a black beauty with purple stripes accentuating the rear.

Andrew Do performed wonders, wrapping the car within a week, just in time for the recent Tuned Originals show in Lewisville, TX. "I've always wanted a purple car. I already have green and yellow, so I wanted something truly different!" Wayne exclaims. Wrapping the car provides them with the flexibility to revert to red whenever they desire.

"It's incredible that I saw this car before we owned it, loved it, and now we've been able to personalize it to make it perfect for us. It has passed through the hands of amazing builders who undeniably put this car on the map! I'm glad Cyndi loves this car and wanted to work on it together. I'm definitely looking forward to showcasing it at events this year and hopefully winning a Best of Show award!" Wayne expresses with enthusiasm.
