Tim Kennemore  - 1995 Acura Integra

Integras are not the only cars he has owned in the past. His first car was a 1991 Honda CRX. He has always played around with bolt-ons and race car parts. This specific Integra however has been the first car he has built from start to finish.

“Stay the course, keep building until it is finished. Nothing comes as a handout and nothing happens overnight. STAY THE COURSE FOR THE END IS SO MUCH GREATER.” ~ Tim K.

Who is Tim Kennemore? Hmmmmm… He would say he is just another humble car guy out here chasing his dreams. He is 38 years old and living in a small oil town called Corsicana located in Texas. He’s currently employed as the head of research and development at Casita Travel Trailers.

Tim got into cars because of his ability to take them apart and repair them. His love for wrenches and tools started as a kid playing with small erector sets and then slowly moving on to bigger toys with cooler tools. He’s always loved wrenching on things, building them, improving them, and just simply being able to take something and put his own personal twist on it. And when it was finished be able to take it out to compete and show off.

So why the Integra?

Tim has always had a love for the Acura Integra. He has owned a few over the years and none of them ever got finished. He would work and work until he would finally get the car presentable and then some unfortunate event or wreck would happen. It would always put him back from square one, again. This current Integra was the comeback from a previous JDM front converted Teggy he lost to an uninsured driver running a stop sign. He purchased this one the day after from a friend for $1,900. Bone stock on hubcaps and with an insane amount of hail damage. After spending the day counting it came out to have over 130 spots needing repair This car has become what he could only describe as a truly humbling experience.

Integras are not the only cars he has owned in the past. His first car was a 1991 Honda CRX. He has always played around with bolt-ons and race car parts. This specific Integra however has been the first car he has built from start to finish.

Owning this build has definitely been an experience for Tim. It often feels very surreal at times. Being able to talk with people, answer their build questions, and give some advice all the while getting to hear compliments. One of his favourite things is after a car show when you get to see the event media cuts from the events. The pictures and video let him know where he stood. If you made the cut that means you had something that caught the medias’ eye. Tim also loves seeing how each photographer captures the build with their own style and twist.

Tim believes there is nothing that can’t be done. He has converted almost every piece of this car; starting with the RHD (Right Hand Drive) conversion. People will always have something to say about your build. You can achieve anything you want with or without all the money in the world. If you don’t have the money, save. Don’t drop it just because it’s something you don’t feel like you can afford. You can do anything you wish, you just need a goal and a plan.

When asked what makes his car unique from other builds it would have to be the custom paint job and the engine bay.

Modding Tips with Tim:

  1. Buy what you want the first time. You’ll save a lot of money this way.
  2. Always get the correct items you need on the first go, it'll be less of a headache and less work replacing things later.

Tim has done 75% of the labour himself in his front yard. No garage or big shop, just him. The welding fabrication for the RHD conversion was done by Paul Owens at KNE Customs and David Day at BFU Motorsports The custom paint job was done by Russell Penny at RP Designs.

We all have our friends and family supporting us but when you have a large group that has the same passion for the ride it always makes us push to that next level. Integra Nation is that group for Tim. They have always been one of the biggest supporters thus far and would probably be his favourite group to date.

Words could not describe what this scene and this car has done for him. It has been truly humbling. All the amazing friends, outstanding shops, and companies he’s had the privilege to represent and build with. One final word Tim shared before he left was “The opportunities never stop, it's all up to you entirely to make whatever you wish, let nothing stop you and remain humble to the end. Never give up on something you wish to do or achieve. Anything is reachable.”

Tim’s ultimate dream car is an Acura NSX
