My name is Kevin Xiong. I’m a husband to a supportive wife and a father to three incredible kids. I'm an easy-going guy who could talk about cars with anyone, anywhere. Growing up, I had big dreams, and now, I'm just trying to fulfill what I can while sharing my passion with my kids.

My Journey into Car Culture: Inspired by My Brother

My love for cars started with my brother, one of my biggest supporters. He’s the reason I got into cars in the first place. When we were young, our mom bought him a PlayStation 1, and one of the first games we played together was Gran Turismo 1. That was it—right then, we fell in love with imported cars. We’ve always shared a similar taste for car mods, which made our journey even more enjoyable.

Whenever I couldn’t afford something for my car, he’d step in and tell me to go for it, promising to cover the cost. It was the same the other way around. To this day, I look up to him, and I’m grateful for all we’ve achieved together in the car community.

Why the EG Civic Chassis is My Favorite

The EG chassis has always been my top choice. There are so many options for modifications, and the build potential feels limitless. I’ve always envisioned creating a Spoon Sports-inspired EG hatchback—the Spoon style just flows so perfectly with the EG chassis. In my opinion, it’s one of the best styles for this generation of Civics.

It’s rare to see a clean 1992-1995 Honda Civic on the road today, so having an EG Civic that I built mostly on my own feels unique. Owning this car, knowing how much of myself I’ve put into it, fills me with pride.

Who Did the Work?

I handled most of the work on this car myself. From repainting the engine bay to rebuilding and swapping the engine, it was a hands-on journey. My tuner, based here in NC, helped with tuning and some wiring. Working on this car myself makes it even more rewarding to drive.

Future Plans for the Civic

In the future, I’d like to add Recaro seats and an Auto Power roll bar. I also want to repaint the car and fix a few dents and dings to keep it looking fresh.

First and foremost, I want to thank God; without Him, I wouldn’t be who I am today. Huge thanks go out to my amazing wife, Jasmine, for always supporting me, even with my costly hobbies.
