Oscar Hernandez - 2015 Ruby Red Mustang GT Premium

After eyeing 2015 Mustang listings for a few months, I finally found the perfect one which already came with a full Borla exhaust kit. In early 2020 I pulled the trigger and bought it and started making plans for what I can do to it.

My name is Oscar Hernandez and I live in Omaha, Nebraska. During the day I’m a project manager who builds single-family homes in the Omaha and surrounding area. My love for cars started as a kid when I would always play a game called “Bingo”, where you would shout “BINGO” if you see a nice car therefore claiming it's yours. My brother and I always had a competition to see who would spot the nicest car on the road. I also have many memories of racing go-karts at the local arcade.

Speeding through turns and having a blast put a huge smile on my face which grew the love for cars even deeper. Playing video games through the years like Midnight Club, Grand Theft Auto, and Need for Speed, I used to play these games for hours and actually learned a lot about cars due to these games. Customizing my cars and racing them down the street to show them off only pushed me towards one day owning my own car and customizing it.

I currently daily drive my Mustang as it is the only car I own right now. I did however used to drive a few cars before the Mustang including an old Lincoln that had a pearl white paint job and the shiniest chrome rims due to me always cleaning them. After that, I got a 2010 Ford Fusion which is where I started to finally customize my car. I started off by tinting the windows and lights, followed by a nice set of new rims. I stayed with that car for a few years and began to save up for a car on my “bingo” list. I had been eyeing mustangs ever since I was a kid and really wanted one to be my next car.

After eyeing 2015 Mustang listings for a few months, I finally found the perfect one which already came with a full Borla exhaust kit. In early 2020 I pulled the trigger and bought it and started making plans for what I can do to it. I drove it a lot when I first got it because I loved driving it everywhere mainly due to the exhaust system and the powerful 5.0 Coyote engine which makes stock around 420 horsepower. With the full exhaust kit, I was sitting pretty at around 430 horsepower which was at first enough for me. After a few months and many more miles, I made some changes mainly to the look of it. I started by blacking out all the emblems, lights, and windows to give it a more sinister look. Shortly after I put on a GT350 track spoiler, new engine brace bar, and a custom straight pipe exhaust system. I soon started to feel the need for speed and got a custom 93 Racing Tune from Lund Performance which helped me gain another 40 horsepower leaving me now with 470 horsepower which is more than enough for me for now.

Overall, I chose this car because it’s the ultimate “bingo” for me. The color, the shape, and the roar of the engine make me smile every time I get in a drive. This car I yet to be complete and I have many future plans including installing Eibach sport line lowering springs, putting on custom rear diffusers and wrapping the hood and roof black to match the theme. Oh, and for those track days, I want to purchase a cold air intake, oil catch can, and a different throttle body.

When buying any S550 Mustang which is from the year 2015-Current, I would recommend a few things. Personally, I love the look of the black accent package, this includes blacked-out emblems and black rims. The look of the mustang really pops with little changes like that. I also recommend getting a Mustang with the Premium package which adds an 8'' touchscreen and a bunch of other features including heated and cooled leather seats, special driving modes, shaker sound system with a subwoofer as well as additional security upgrades.

These features can add a variety of things that will help you on a daily basis and take your car to the next level. The first mod I would add to a Mustang is definitely an X-Pipe/H-Pipe and a muffler delete. This simple change that costs about $350 will make your car sound like an absolute beast! When buying this car, I noticed there weren’t many in my area so be patient and don’t be afraid to travel for your dream car.

I basically did everything to this car so far except for the exhaust which was done by a local shop.

I’m currently in the Hustle Hard car club of Nebraska which is a group of fellow car enthusiasts mostly consisting of Mustangs, Dodge Chargers, Challengers, and a few foreign cars.  The club was founded in August of 2019 in Las Vegas which is where the official Hustle Hard Club is still. My close friend and one of the founders of the club Dylan Anson who goes by @kingsman_anson on Instagram moved back down to Omaha In June of last year and started the Nebraska Chapter of Hustle Hard.

I joined this car club last summer which only started with a few of us but soon throughout the months now have over 50 members. The Instagram accounts for Hustle Hard are @hustlehardnebraska and @hustlehardcarclub. I definitely recommend joining a car club that suits you and has many other people with the same car interests. Before joining the club I was always driving around mainly by myself which is fun but you get bored easily and it's nice to have some company with you. Now that our club has grown, we (when the weather is nice) have cruised all the time and go to dinner with everyone. It's nice to have someone else to talk about cars with and has the same inspirations and dreams. This year our club plans to grow more and plans on going to many Car Shows and other Car related events together.

The car scene has many advantages that have been great to experience. I have made a lot of friends from it and shared many great memories. After every car show or event, I always have a few more friends and get to see more amazing cars. I like going to these events because people are always great, we share the same passions, and their stories are always fascinating to hear. So far, I have joined the Hustle Hard Car Club. This club-like I said is filled mostly with Mustangs and other amazing cars that turn heads when we arrive. We have had many events that I will never forget and there are more to come. I again recommend joining a crew in your area to get the full experience.
