Paul Brittain - 2003 Nissan Fairlady Z GT JDM import

They are amazing! I love my tattoos and I've got my 350z planned into my Japanese style pieces so I’m looking forward to adding that in at some point, I’m lucky that my artist also happens to be a close friend, he owns his own shop in Bridlington called identity tattoo studio.

I’m a 30-year-old truck driver from Driffield in East Yorkshire, and a proud daddy to Gordon age 6 and Delphini age 2, I like to fill any spare time I get with cars or car-related activities if I’m not helping someone do something or doing something to mine I’m elbow deep in a bucket detailing the Zed or polishing my truck, I also have a model railway in the garage and enjoy spending time adding to that when the weather outside doesn’t play ball. I’m a huge Enter Shikari fan and there’s nothing better than seeing the boys play live!

They are amazing! I love my tattoos and I've got my 350z planned into my Japanese style pieces so I’m looking forward to adding that in at some point, I’m lucky that my artist also happens to be a close friend, he owns his own shop in Bridlington called identity tattoo studio.

I always loved cars, trucks and trains for as long as I can remember and I put that down to my grandpa, he was my best friend and my hero so much so that I named my son after him but my passion for cars grew as I got older when I started playing racing games and when the need for speed underground came out that was it. Then came underground 2 and the love for the 350z was born! Ever since then it seemed like it would only ever be a dream to own one.

I chose this specific car because I used to belong to one of my best friends Chris he bought it just after we left school and he decided he wanted the newer HR model and sold it on, luckily it was to a family friend and when he made the decision to part ways with it he messaged Chris asking if his dad would like it for his collection.

Chris’ dad Andrew owns a Nissan dealership in Malton North Yorkshire and he has some amazing gems in his collection, Chris said ‘no because he’s got enough on with his skyline but I do know someone who wants one’ he rang me and told me as he knew I’d been thinking about it for a while and it was too good to be true so I had to go for it.

When it comes to customising this car there is just so much you can do it’s hard to know where to start and luckily for me, the car was just about stock when I got it so slowly it’s starting to become mine.

Owning this car is awesome it turns heads in the street from young to old, people smile when they see it and that’s just one of the best feelings. Kids asking what it’s is makes me laugh because to me it’s an icon but to them, I suppose it’s before their time.

One of the key things that makes mine unique is that it’s pearlescent white which I believe is a JDM colour option so you don’t see too many the same that and a few Addison’s here and there make it unlike any other iv seen so far.

Specs:

  • JWT pop charger
  • Tarmac Sportz carbon fibre intake pipe
  • Candy red strut brace
  • Custom stainless slam panel
  • Tarmac Sportz hood dampers
  • Tarmac Sportz HFC
  • Invidia Gemini cat-back exhaust ( when it arrives)
  • TDI North remap
  • Pioneer AVH-G220BT double din touch screen stereo
  • We are likewise gear knob
  • LED footwell and boot lighting
  • Custom made leatherette boot lining (made by me)
  • Standard wheels refinished
  • Tarmac Sportz front lip splitter smoothed in and colour coded
  • Private reg

I did most of the work but I can’t take all the credit iv had guidance from my friend Ash and Chris painted the wheels when he had it and he and Andrew will be helping fit the exhaust system when it arrives hopefully in April, me and my mate Karl fitted the stereo, that was a bit of a pain but we got there. The strut brace was Chris from when he owned it and he never fitted it to his new one so we put it back on.

In the future, I’d like to change the bumpers k can’t decide between the AMS GT kit or Tarmac Sportz 370z style bumpers and then I’m looking at having the whole thing wrapped in either chrome or matt purple. New 19” wheels and shocks and lowering springs all round and last but not least big country labs medium height wing.

I’m part of ‘ Team absolute power’ a local car club of like-minded enthusiasts brought together by Andy Garside the legend, the team was established in 2019 I believe and I joined in 2021 and was welcomed in and made to feel like I’d know everyone for years, we have a vast array of different cars from Andy’s GT86 to Calum’s Galanza and Annabelle’s awesome fiat 500 Abarth to Cals 3000GT and loads of other really cool stuff.

I love the enthusiasm you get for the car scene and how people can have such different tastes but in the end, it doesn’t matter because you can appreciate what someone has got and what they have done even if it’s not your VIP of tea. It’s a great way of meeting new people and talking to like-minded people who really care about what you’re telling them.

My dream car would be Lamborghini Aventador without a doubt, I have had the privilege of driving one and it took my breath away….. one day maybe
