I’m from Hampton Roads, Virginia, United States. I’m a service advisor at a dealership and outside of work, I love to build cars and motorcycles. Over the years I’ve had many vehicles, which just about all of them I modified a ton.

A lot of people would tell me that I was addicted to my cars but after realizing that I’ve put more money into some of these cars than what the cars themselves were worth and then selling them just to move on to a different car, I realize that it wasn’t the cars themselves but that it was the journey of making something my own. Cars and motorcycles and building them is my hobby and passion. When I’m having a bad day or I’m just bored, I have something to go to

To be honest, if I said who got me into cars I would have to say my great grandmother, which sounds kind of crazy, but I’ll explain. When I was just a baby my great grandmother would buy me Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars all the time. I even had a little luggage case that when you opened it up had a slot for a ton of different cars. When I was growing up my great grandmother and my grandmother said that I would move the cars back-and-forth just to watch the wheels spin. By the time I was about 7 or 8 I had an absurd collection of hot wheels and a ton of different race track carpets that I would play with them on. My father was also into cars and when I got a little older he would show me the cars he had and have me help him when he was working on them. Of course, as any young person I played all the racing video games and I would spend hours and hours just editing cars in the games and racing them. Realistically my whole childhood is the reason that I’m in the car scene today.

The reason I chose the Mazdaspeed3 is that for one, hot hatches I found to be super cool and “functional” but everyone and their mama had a Focus ST and I refused to be another Focus ST owner. So I decided to get the opposite car despite hating the way they looked at the time. I was familiar with Mazdas and I had an older Mazda Protege at the time, which I loved, so it kind of sent me into being a Mazda guy.

I started customizing this car simply because I’ve customized every vehicle I’ve owned and this one would be no different, and I started the process rather quickly too. The first week I have the car I had already ordered an intake and a blow-off valve and some other stuff for it without even really doing research on the car, which was a mistake. Over the years of owning the car, I have spent so much time learning more and more about them and making sure that I modified it properly because I didn’t want to be one of the Zoom-Zoom Boom guys.

Owning this car after all this time has turned out to be awesome. Honestly, I’ve never had a problem with a car that I haven’t caused myself and it has been the most reliable, well-kept, and useful car that I’ve owned as of yet. It’s interesting because while the car is not brand new I would think more people knew what it was, and even still to this day some people will ask me about my “Mazda3 with a body kit”. The car has been great and it is taking me a lot of places, and in fact, I have even moved half of my house using this little hot hatch.

I think my car is unique because especially in the area I live in they are not very prevalent especially as heavily modified as mine. When I was building the car I never could decide if I wanted to be a full-on stance boy or if I wanted to build it to race spec. But over the course of building the car, I realized that was suits me the most is a mix of both so that’s what I’ve built.

Future Plans

Yes, I still have more plans for the car. First things first I want to finish the interior even more including a roll cage and some reupholstering. Then I’d like to further the performance aspect and go with an even bigger turbo than what I have and run an 8th port injection to make even more power, you know for trips to Mexico.

Advice/Tips

If I was to start over back to first getting this car, I would start by researching it immensely on the forums and Facebook pages before doing anything to it. Do it right from the get-go. Specifically, start with a high-pressure fuel pump internal upgrade and an Accessport for monitoring data.

Groups/Shout Outs

I’d like to shout out the group that I started with a few other local Mazdaspeed friends, HRSPEEDS, which was a small group that grew to over 200 local members, which is a lot of Mazsaspeeds. I would also like to shout out to my other car group @ruthlesslegendss. A local group of top tier cars and thought my build was show worthy and brought me in as part of the team.

The car scene has brought me a few good people to share my hobbies and passions with because they share the same passions and hobbies.

Dream Car

My dream car would have to be a Y32 Nissan Gloria in a full VIP build. I know it’s been done plenty but nonetheless, that’s my dream ride.
