A Journey of Passion and Purpose

Born and raised on the small island of Guam, I moved to America at 14 in search of a better life. Now, at 35, I run an automotive customization and repair shop called “Creative Customs AutoSport LLC.”

My passion for cars began early. At 10, my mother and I faced a dire situation without access to a vehicle, relying on public transportation that didn't operate on Sundays. One such Sunday, my mother fell ill, and we had to hitchhike for two hours. A village garbage collector in a 1983 Toyota pickup finally gave us a ride, but we had to sit in the bed filled with trash. That experience left a lasting impression. I vowed that once we moved to the States, we'd never face transportation issues again. Today, I own eleven cars, each representing a chapter of my journey.

The movie 2 Fast 2 Furious further ignited my passion for customizing vehicles.

Building the 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe: A Dedication to My Daughter

While my primary projects have been a Mitsubishi Evolution X and a 4th-generation Eclipse, I stumbled upon a deal for a bone-stock 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe for $1,500. Being a sentimental person, I decided to build this car for my daughter, Jenivier Zafra, incorporating her initials on the hood and trunk.

My goal was to create a safe and reliable vehicle. I believe a custom car should not only look good but also perform flawlessly. The joy and pride I feel when people appreciate the custom work are indescribable.

Key Considerations for the Infiniti G35 Coupe

When researching the G35, it's essential to monitor the oil level regularly. The VQ engines are known to burn oil quickly. Be vigilant for misfires, unusual sounds like lifter ticks, or any burning smells.

Custom One-of-One Widebody Kit

We developed a unique widebody kit featuring tasteful vents and a custom paint job that glows in the dark, setting it apart from any other G35. The custom wide wheels complement the body kit without excessive camber stance. We also modified the fuel door to match the ventilation design on the opposite side, ensuring symmetry.

Mentorship and Future Plans

I believe in learning from those with extensive experience in auto-body customization. My mentor, Bill Foster, and I collaborated on this project. While I initiated the installations and fabrications, he fine-tuned the bodywork, ensuring every detail was perfect before I painted the car.

The next upgrades include installing Brembo brake calipers, two-piece rotors, and cleaning up the engine bay.

Joining the Customotive Crew

I'm part of a car group called “Customotive Crew,” comprising individuals with unique visions, creative instincts, and a drive to excel. We share a dedication to succeed and a passion for automotive customization.

The Essence of Car Culture

For me, cars are more than a hobby—they're a career and a lifestyle. Through this passion, I've connected with people from diverse backgrounds, all united by our love for cars. There's no greater feeling than being surrounded by positive energy and good vibes in this industry.

Dream Cars

I'd love to own a Nissan S15 240SX or an R34 GTR.

Final Thoughts

"Build to express, not impress. Always be different than the rest. Build your car so that it screams your name when people see it, so that they won’t confuse your car with someone else’s. They can imitate you, but they can’t duplicate you."

r0cean11 Photography started as a hobby for me. I have been practicing for a little over 21 years now. I was building cars for SEMA before I dove into the world of automotive photography. I shot mainly for myself, as it was and remains a passion. I did not get serious until the last car I built was totaled. I now shoot and write for Stance Auto Magazine, PASMAG, 742 Marketing Events, Superlap Battle, Global Time Attack, RACEWORZ, and many other events around the USA. Automotive photography allows me to capture not just a car but the story behind it. Each builder puts a part of themselves in their vehicle. As a photographer, it’s my job to tell and share that story through my lens. You can check out my Facebook page for all my event coverage and many individual car shoots I have done.
