2010 Bagged  Audi A4 Avant  - Ricci Holman

That was the beginning of modding my cars. It never stopped and it only got better over time. Stock stinks lol.... The first car I went crazy on was a 1997 VW Jetta GT nicknamed Jaundice.

“At the end of the day build your ride for you...Take your time and do it the way you want. F*ck the haters, drive your build, and remember stock stinks....”

Ricci Holman

I was born & raised in Sacramento CA I now live in Merced CA. I'm turning 47 this year, Military VET and 21 years and counting as a Federal officer.

Who got me into cars? I'd have to say to my neighbour, "aka my white pops'. Love that man but that's another story. He is the one that started my interest in cars. That man taught me not all cars or styles may be to your liking but you respect the work, time, and effort put in.

That's something I think is being lost lately. I grew up just a few miles away from Sacramento Raceway. On a good night, you could hear the races back then. When my pop let me tag along I was on cloud 9. The crazy thing is when I think about it I was blessed to grow up around a lot of car people. Robert n Diane C, Christine G., Mark L., and my brother.....I thank you all for this crazy obsession.

Why this car?

I've always loved wagons and when I saw this one it was love at first sight. Volkswagen has been my love from the beginning. I first learned to drive in a VW Rabbit. I even got to practice in a Datsun 510 which I still feel was one of the dopest cars I got to drive when I was growing up. What did I get to drive around a Toyota Corolla it beats walking and I passed my driving test with it.

So what did I do with it?

What any teenage boy would do is put a big ass speaker box in the trunk. I thought I was so cool. That was the beginning of modding my cars. It never stopped and it only got better over time. Stock stinks lol... The first car I went crazy on was a 1997 VW Jetta GT nicknamed Jaundice. It was the first car I ever bought new and it's still around today...in the family.

My first Audi was an ‘09 A4 sedan. The next was a 2012 Avant, a beauty from the start. Sadly she was totalled (R.I.P.). After the Wife told me to stop moping around and find another one I found my diamond in the rough. It was bone stock and I wouldn't ever look back at it when I parked. Slowly I started moulding her. A few things here and there. Then he looks back after parking her with a smile.

Then the thumbs up while driving. Having people like what I've done to my car makes me feel good. I spent a lot of money to keep the car looking Oem+ but with my own style. I love the props and feedback at shows from young and old.

The "man I wish I could do something like that" or the "not my style but I love what you have going here". The ones I hate are the straight trash-talking haters. But I built this car for me and to my liking. When I get asked questions from people on different things tells me I'm on the right track.

What makes my car unique?

It's a wagon for one and I like to think that I put my own spin on it. It's OEM+ on one part and let's go a little crazy on the other.

The Work

I can't take credit for all the things done to my car nor would I want to. I have worked with some great shops and made lifelong friends in doing so. The crew at @everythingair did their thing with my air ride and audio setup. Mike, Sam, and the gang are some of the best at what they do. Jhmotorsports got me started under the hood.

@Rennsport - automotive keeps the car running at its best and built me a motor that will keep her on the road for a long while and we'll have people scratching their heads on what wagon is next to them. Matt at Ocarbon has the carbon fiber interior looking right. JS Alternators is a family business that has been great to work with and @Rolloface got me looking good while stopping

Future Plans

Plans, plans, plans....future plans for the car: bigger turbo, upgraded tranny, front n rear sway bars, new wrap or paint, and maybe a wide body kit. It's all time and money at this point. I'd love to get the RS4 body panels from Germany to finish the transformation....but I’m a baller on a budget...lol...

After the motor work and swap Wifey says I'm keeping it and she's right. Maybe one of the future grandkids will get it. I'm hoping Audi ships the new RS4 Avant stateside. If that happens I might be starting all over again....sorry sweets!

Advice/Tips

If you're looking to get an Audi A4 b8 be ready for some pricey maintenance. Timing chain, oil consumption issues, misfires, and water pumps. Don't get me wrong, I'd do it all over again. You can look for a later year like 2012 and cross your fingers or you use it as an opportunity to upgrade and improve. When buying, ask for records and bring a friend for when you're blinded by a jem. Build your ride for you.

Shout Outs

Shoutout to Norcal Audi club, Sacramento Audi club, NvUs car club! These are three groups I run with and I can't even begin to name all the family and homies I've made being around them not to be left out are shops that are now lifelong friendships.

All are hands down the best...@norcalaudis, @sacramento_audi_club, @Nvus_merced, @everything _air_, @Rennsport_audimotive..I've been lucky in life and have found real ones.....there are people out there that would disagree...yeah...but what I have got from all of them is love and respect ...hell even the shirt off there back if I needed it..

The Scene

It can be a crazy one. I can say I have grown my family doing this stuff. I say family because when you kick it with like-minded people day in and day out it just happens. I've been doing this since 1997. It's a release from the daily grind and I get to see some dope ass builds along the way. And it's rubbing off on the family.

Dream car

Man-o-man I'd have to say the new Audi Rs6 Avant and a 1970 Hemi ‘cuda. I know two very different cars but I'd love to have them both.
