My name is Ted Wiley, Sr. and I am the IT Manager for a privately held Oil and Gas company based out of Dallas, Texas where I have worked for 25 years. 

I have been fascinated with cars since I was very young. Always loved working on cars. From rebuilding older cars to building cars and trucks for stereo competitions.  My first car was a barn find 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham Limousine which we repainted, lowered and added a custom stereo.  

My current build is a 2018 Ford Mustang. I have always loved the Mustang and have owned several over the years. The fox body Mustang was one of my favourites owned. Then I purchased a 2013 Mustang GT and my passion grew even bigger. I test drove a 2107 and had to order one! I drove the 2017 daily for almost a year and the car was totalled in an accident. Four days later I purchased a 2018. 

The Mustang was purchased as a daily driver. Then the upgrades started, supercharger, air ride, roll cage, and so on. One upgrade led to another and the rest is history. The build continued into what it is today, I genuinely enjoy driving the car. The power and handling make the car an absolute blast to drive. From back road driving to highway cruising, we have a great time. 

If I was asked what makes my car different, and unique, I would have to say, I think we have done a good job keeping the car clean. We’ve done a lot of mods but nothing over the top. When we added the stripes last year, I wanted something simple yet something that would add a lot to the car. The colour choices we have made helped keep the car clean.

We have done a lot of the mods at our shop at home. All of the BMR suspension work. All the interior work, pedal kit, painted trim, door releases, roll cage, and rear seat delete. The Hurst shifter handle with nitrous buttons was installed by us. We also did the GT 500 front end install along with the Trufiber hood install on Ford Performance gas shock hood lifts. The Roush supercharger tune and upgrades along with the new intercooler installs were done at my shop at home. We did the light tint kit, side marker, and new taillight installs as well. The Nitrous Express system was a good weekend project too.  The custom stereo trunk builds with subwoofer LED lighting rings with custom leather stripes to carry through the trunk to match the exterior stripes. 

Future Plans

We are planning custom seats and a few other mods. A couple of engine upgrades, new drive axles, and driveshaft to handle the increased horsepower we are now making. 

Advice/Tips

Build your own. Be unique. Do what makes you happy. There are so many options and modifications available for the S550 platform. Take the time to research your modifications and products before you install each of them on your build. Take your time when installing your upgrades. Rushed installs can cost you even more in the long run.

Car Scene

I have met some incredible people through the car scene and made some lifelong friends, the car scene is such a unique group of cultures that can mix and enjoy being different. 

Dream Car

1965 Shelby Cobra 427, 4-speed. Blue with white Shelby stripes, black leather interior and the wood steering wheel. Knock wheels and with the single roll bar.
