A Passion Born and Built

Hi, I’m Gerard David, but most people call me "Sky." I’m from Lathrop, CA, and my love for cars has been a lifelong journey. Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of owning a car that would turn heads and represent my passion for the automotive world. Over the years, that dream has turned into a reality, culminating in my pride and joy: my One of a kind 2022 Subaru BRZ Varis the only 1 in the USA.

From the STI to the BRZ: A Subaru Love Story

My fascination with Subaru began back in college. In 2016, I bought my first Subaru, a brand-new STI in metallic grey. It was my first taste of the Subaru magic, but I always knew there was more to explore. Fast forward to 2022, amidst the pandemic, I decided to take the plunge and begin a new journey with a Subaru BRZ.

Scrolling through Instagram one day, I stumbled across the Varis non-production kit demo car. It was love at first sight. With the help of Mackin Industries and some supportive friends, I managed to bring this rare kit to the U.S., and the transformation began.

Building a Unique Subaru BRZ Widebody Varis

Every car has a story, but I wanted mine to stand out. While other cars might share similarities with my build, I’ve poured my heart and soul into making this BRZ uniquely mine. From painstakingly sourced parts to long nights spent in the garage, every detail has been installed with care.

Who Made It Happen?

The stunning paint and bodywork were brought to life by Neo Autoworks, where I decided to mold the non-production widebody kit. I’m grateful to everyone who contributed to this build, making it the incredible car it is today.

The Driving Experience and Future Plans

Driving my BRZ is an adrenaline rush. The HKS Sub Control System delivers a punchy 280 horsepower, making every trip an adventure. But the journey isn’t over. I plan to enhance the engine's durability, aiming for more power while continuing to enjoy the thrill of driving this car.
