My first car was an E36 Compact, which I still have today, and drive as a daily, the E46 M3 CSL has always been my childhood dream and I think if you've gotten a bit infected with the BMW brand, you can't get around this model at all.

Hi all I’m Benson, 32 years old, from Germany, married, Car Enthusiast, I work as an electrician in the pharma industry, so my car is my hobby, and nothing to do with my job, I came to love car tuning and working on them through my dad, he showed me a lot back in the days, how to repair/change things on the car, and also because of movies like fast and furious

My first car was an E36 Compact, which I still have today, and drive as a daily, the E46 M3 CSL has always been my childhood dream and I think if you've gotten a bit infected with the BMW brand, you can't get around this model at all. So I was looking for an E46 with the vision of building an E46 facelift to CSL optics cause BMW never did. That was the plan when I bought the car in 2013 that's why it was Silver Gray Metallic A08, which is the same color as the original M3 CSL.

I think a lot about how or with what kit I can widen the car, and when I saw the first pics of the new rocket bunny/Pandem kit from a guy in the US I know, I wanted the same widebody kit. But this kit was for a pre-facelift m3 and mine is a facelift, the headlights, and some other stuff is different.

So it was not that easy. In the beginning, we thought ok you just have to "adjust" the front turn signals in the front fenders because the kit is originally intended for the pre-facelift, i.e. M3. The facelift has completely different headlights, but in addition to the headlights, the recess for the gills also had to be adjusted, as well as for the tank cap,

We also had to extend in the lower area of the rear fender. and we also cleaned the side markers for the front lower part of the front fender. I'm attaching a link from youtube where the whole conversion to "wide" is documented here, you can take a look if you feel like it and have the time.

It feels awesome owning and driving this car! car drives excellently and makes so much fun on sunny days and nice roads, it also, makes some people smile or get into a small chat at a gas station, etc. When they see a car like this, because here in Germany you don't see a special car like this often. I would say it's unique cause it was the first ever E46 FACELIFT Pandem build in the world. JAN 17' till JUN 17',and it as a custommade pandem kit out of a OEM pandem kit.

Who did the work?

I try to do most of it by myself, if not I have a good friend with a workshop, and he helps me a lot or we do stuff together. the widebody build I made with two good friends

Future Plans:

I plan to maybe change the engine to the legendary S54 engine, which would be the last "big" part for my conversion, also may change some things in the interior, like CSL door panels and so on

Advice/Tips

The best advice I could give is to do what you want and love and don't listen to other people or try to impress them, and built your car like you want if I had listened to all that negative people in my life since I build this car (2013) it would never look like it is now
