2013 Scion Rocket Bunny FRS

I got into cars when I was a young kid through video games. Mostly Need for Speed and Gran Turismo on the Playstation. I think Gran Turismo is what started my love for Japanese cars. That’s where I first learned about Skylines and Supras and just all the amazing cars we in the USA never had.

My original plan was to do a 2JZGTE swap on my Genesis Coupe after I blew the original 2.0 turbo, the build was progressing but hit a stall to where I was waiting on the engine to be built and motor mounts fab'd up. I got bored waiting and picked up a 2013 FRS that my friend was selling. It was mostly stock with a RockerBunny V2 front bumper and coilovers and a few other parts.

The plan was to just have something fun to drive while the Genesis was being done, I ended up pouring more money into the FRS, swapping out to BC coilovers with custom springs, completing the V2 RocketBunny widebody kit. We had the car dipped in a Midnight Purple Autoflex dip which looks just like paint in my opinion. I added more aero pieces to complete the race car look with BatlleAero chassis mount wing and Chassis mount front splitter.

We have taken the car to multiple shows around Texas and have done fairly well. With the recent pandemic and cars shows being cancelled we have started Autocrossing the car which I'll be honest has been a whole lot of fun. It feels great to actually use the car and all the components on the track and not just hard park.   

Future plans with the car are to keep tracking it and progress with it. The FRS is a great platform to learn and grow with. I have a few extra 2JZ engines lying around I can swap into it if the original boxer engine decides to give up.  Maybe a colour change down the line too. What was once a car to just hold me over while my main build was progressing turned into a whole other main build. The FRS has helped me to promote my shop and business, Hero Garage, it has really become a centrepiece of what we do and who we are.
