But what if you do jump? What if you’re standing on the edge of a stock WRX staring into the massive world of modification and you dive right off the edge. Well that's exactly how Gagan handles business. After leaving the world of JDM sports cars behind he fell into the responsible realm of generic commuter cars. Only to return years later with a well paid, and well-timed purchase of a Subaru WRX.
Within the first hour of purchasing his WRX Gagan had already purchased a Cobb catback exhaust, and a Cobb Access Port. Hoping this would fill his need to make his car just that little bit more exciting. Which it did, but then Gagan found something about owning a Subaru which his previous JDM sports cars never offered. A hidden gem which I can personally say is the best part of Subaru ownership and that is other Subaru owners.
“Vape Gang” “Do you even vape bro?” “Y’all ever micro-dosed?” Jokes aside, the Subaru community is nothing short of amazing. No other specific group of vehicle ownership is like the Subaru community and that's because no other group tries as hard to be as tight, or inclusive. Save for maybe classic VW owners, but that's just an honourable mention. Within the first couple months of ownership Gagan met up with a group of friends, and Subaru owners called “Sac-Town Subaru.” This connection granted him access to what is basically a communal vehicle lift, tons of new friends, help for modification installs, and a seemingly never-ending desire to keep building.
Because building a car alone is a very cool, and worthwhile experience. But building a car with friends, all of whom push you to do better, go bigger, and keep having fun is what the car scene is really about. I cannot stress enough how awesome the Subaru community really is, because I was, and hope in spirit I still am a part of it. Gagan's car went from stock with a cat-back, to a fire breathing, color shifting, Ethanol drinking monster. Would his car have gone this far without the help of friends? Sure it might have. But because of the connections made he was able to make those changes for far less money, in half the time, and had a hell of a lot of fun doing it.
