Jay's - 1993 Toyota Supra Euro Spec

Unlike most Supra owners, the Toyota Supra MKIV was not my dream car as a child. To be honest, I was not interested in it until a year before I got my Supra. My best friend was telling me about how good the Toyota Supra MKIV is, especially the 2JZ-GTE engine.

Hi all,

My name is Jay from Brunei Darussalam.

Instagram:  @supra1818

I currently own a 1993 Toyota Supra Euro Spec. Most people are not aware that a Euro Spec for the Supra exists, thus, they always comment on the hood scoop which I previously had on my car (you can see this on my Instagram profile as detailed above).

The Euro-Spec has numerous stock features which include the following:-

  • Heated electric leather seats in Ivory;
  • ABS;
  • Traction Control;
  • Limited Slip Differential;
  • 4-Pot Front and 2-Pot Rear Breaks;
  • Active Front spoiler;
  • Glass Headlights;
  • Hood Scoop;
  • 550cc Injectors; and
  • Higher Flowing Steel Turbos.

Unlike most Supra owners, the Toyota Supra MKIV was not my dream car as a child. To be honest, I was not interested in it until a year before I got my Supra. My best friend was telling me about how good the Toyota Supra MKIV is, especially the 2JZ-GTE engine. From then, I read articles and watched plenty of videos about the Toyota Supra and its remarkable engine and needless to say, I fell in love with it! There is only a handful of Supra’s where I live and quite frankly I thought it would be impossible to buy one. We are also not allowed to import cars over a certain age limit from overseas so the option to import is out.

Let’s fast forward to almost a year later; with the power of making friends within the car community, I was told that a Toyota Supra MKIV was up for sale. A Few days later, that Supra ended up being mine, sitting in my garage! My Toyota Supra was originally an automatic, the previous owner converted it to the V160 6-Speed Manual Transmission and swapped the twin turbos to the Greddy T-78 single turbo kit. Within a few months of ownership, I have added the ETS 4” Intercooler Kit, ECU Master Black Standalone ECU, Injector Dynamix 1050x, DW Fuel Pump, Greddy Profec boost controller, aero parts (front lip, side skirt and rear diffuser) and some interior changes. There is plenty more work to be done to my Supra. Slowly, but it will surely be done!

My car stats at the moment consist of 496bhp at 1.4bar boost only. I had an issue with what I assume is my wastegate so we have left it at 1.4bar for now. I couldn’t tell you how long it takes me from 0-to 60 as I have not yet tested it.

Full Spec list:-

  • 2JZGTE Non-VVTi;
  • ECU Masters Black;
  • Single turbo TRUST Greddy T78-33D Kit;
  • ETS 4" Core Intercooler ;
  • TiAL Q 50mm Blow Off Valve;
  • Injector Dynamic ID1050x;
  • Deatschwerks DW400 Fuel Pump;
  • Works Engineering Stage 1 Fuel Pressure Regulator;
  • Powerhouse Racing 14mm Fuel Rail;
  • Custom 3" Exhaust;
  • Driveline & Suspension;
  • Getrag 6-speed V160 Transmission;
  • RPS Carbon Twin Disc Clutch;
  • TEIN Flex Z Coilovers;
  • Ikeya Formula Rear Upper Arms; and
  • Ikeya Formula Rear Traction Adjuster Rods.

Interior:-

  • Stu Hagen custom LED TRD Style Cluster;
  • GReddy Profec Electronic Boost Controller;
  • AEM X-Series Wideband UEGO AFR Sensor Gauge;
  • Defi Racer Boost Gauge; and
  • Super Klasse OEM Style Weighted Shiftknob.

Exterior:-

  • Greddy Style Front Lip;
  • Custom Front Splitter;
  • Top Secret Style Rear Diffuser; and
  • TE37 Wheels.

Onto my Supra again, all I can say is it is far from finished. Currently, as writing out this article, I am waiting for exterior parts to finish their production and to arrive for fitment.

After finishing off the exterior, I have plans to change my turbo and upgrade the engine internals just to make it more fun and responsive car for the streets. At the time being, I do not join any car competitions as I feel my car is not up to show car level however, I do participate in car shows and car meets for socialisation and fun!

Thank you all for your time reading the little about my Supra, please do follow my journey via Instagram @supra1818.
