I chose the GTR as a platform because it always seemed out of reach to own one growing up. It's obviously the "king" of cars in the JDM world and has an endless vary of performance and aesthetic parts which makes the possibilities endless for this vehicle.

2015 Nissan GTR
My name is Jimmy Tu, I am a full-time real estate investor in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve been building cars since 1998 when I worked 2 jobs to buy my first car which was a 1998 Acura Integra GSR. I grew up watching Option 2 Videos from Japan and read every tuner magazine available.
Naturally growing up during these times, creativity and standing out from the crowd has always been the challenge I.ve always presented to me. As the scene transitioned from the crazy paint job, custom conversions, and crazy kits into the more subtle “JDM” inspired scene, I always found myself having different elements of both. So naturally, with all of my builds, you’ll find a combination of crazy/custom elements to more subtle rare Japanese inspired detail. I always wanted to do another build (after all of my previous builds) with my son so I can allow him to experience the discipline, work, time, and gratification that comes with building a car as there are many life lessons to be learned.
What or who got you into Cars?
My father took me for a ride in his mustang as a kid and something about the roar of the exhaust and driving down the road was addicting to me. I used to read all sorts of Car magazines and watched a ton of option 2 car videos before I even had my license.
I got my drivers permit when I was 16 and worked three jobs to buy my first car which was a 1998 Acura Integra GSR. I would spend the next few years customizing everything about it from turbocharging the 1.8L Vtec motor to doing a custom one-off Widebody kit and imported one-off parts from Japan. I went on to compete in many car shows and events and formed my own car club Artistik Velocity Racing with a group of guys that I now consider family.
Why this Car?

The AWD twin turbo 3.8 L V6 with 565 HP was also another appealing factor : )
Why did you build this Car?
I always wanted to do another build (after all of my previous builds) with my son so I can allow him to experience the discipline, work, time, and gratification that comes with building a car as there are many life lessons to be learned.
What does it feel like owning this Car?
I really enjoy the praise and attention I receive from other enthusiasts as it makes me feel good about all of the long nights and countless hours that go into the build. To be known amongst my peers as someone who builds crazy cars is an inspiration and an honour.
Do your research and don’t cut corners. There is an endless amount of parts and products available for this platform. Use quality parts and make sure the parts are in alignment with the overall vision of the build.
What do you think makes it Unique?
Everything from the crazy Hexis Mirror chrome wrap to the one of one custom fabricated Titanium Center exit exhaust, my build was specifically designed to stand out from the crowd.

History of the build:
I purchased the car at the tail end of 2018. The car was sent to LTMW to have the version 1 Rocket Bunny widebody kit installed and along with an Airlift 3p Air suspension setup to give the car more height adjustability.
A set of 20” Gold Faced LD97 Forged LD09’s and Pirelli P Zero tires (345/30/20 Rear – 295/35/20 Front) were fitted onto the car during the process. (I also have a set of 20” Rotiform BUC’s that I am running currently when I want to switch up looks)
The car was then sent to SPE Engineering to have the flex-fuel page, ID300 injectors, Fuel pumps, intakes, and downpipes installed and tuned. The GTR was driven back to Northern California at this point and was dropped off to Auto Design Pro who wrapped it Chrome Turquoise and Galaxi Designs to install a 300-star galaxy headliner as seen in high-end luxury cars
The car was also fitted with a pair of Bride Gias seats and a pair of black Takata 4 point race harnesses during the process. A few custom fabricated carbon interior pieces were then fitted into the car. While the car was being wrapped I had Finish Logic in Concord powder-coat my full HKS intercooler piping, charge pipes, intakes, Ultra Racing Strut bar, and Agency Power harness bar powder-coated in flaming candy gold
The car was then dropped off to Ed over at Mobile Solutions in Brentwood CA to have a custom T-Rex Tesla type screen installed and along with some sound tuning and car audio. During this time, Shawn from HBP Built fabricated a full (1 of 1) full 4” titanium centre exit exhaust with Dual Linney Titan tips. The car was then re-tuned by Ben Linney of Linney Tuning via Ecutek once the exhaust and Greddy type 06 Intercooler, piping, and exhaust were put on the car. The car will be fitted with a pair of HKS GT800 turbos along with a Shep stage 2.5 transmission in the near future and additional custom pieces are in the works as we speak.
