Hi All,

My Name is Michael and I’m from Adelaide, South Australia, where I work in a supermarket distribution center.

I currently drive a 2005 Subaru WRX which I bought 10+ years ago 100% stock standard.

How did I get into the car scene? Growing up my dad was always into cars and car racing, still remember his go cart sitting in the shed at home, we would always jump in and play around in it. That’s where it all began! Then growing up with mates who owned performance cars and watching the fast and furious movies, V8 Supercars and the WRC championship I think I was just destined to become a car fanatic.

It all started with my first car a Nissan Pulsar SSS, I bought that stock standard from an elderly couple then over the years turned it into a fully custom show winning car. It had full custom body kit, custom interior, chromed out engine bay and so much more. After a while driving that car every day it wasn’t practical anymore so that’s when I bought the subie to use as a daily driver. But history tends to repeat itself, before I even had the subie in my driveway a exhaust and coilovers were on the way for it and down the rabbit hole from there.

Would I recommend a WRX to people, absolutely! They are so much fun to drive, whether it be daily driving or going for a spirited bash they are great and can do it all! Also they are nice and practical with its 4 doors and nice size boot it’s got it all, and you just can’t beat that boxer rumble!

As for mods, I have had some great workshops in the past do a lot of work on the car, but lately have been doing as much as I can on the car myself. I find it more rewarding to have done the work yourself and learn more about your own car.

Is the car finished? Well I said it was finished about 4-5 years ago. I left it alone and vowed not to spend any more money on it. But things changed and I wanted it to handle better and be faster, so I ended up spending more than ever on it after that. Future plans still include getting more power and better response of out the engine with a bigger turbo, and I have more cosmetic parts on the way to change up the outside a little more.

As for a dream car, growing up in the 80’s I’ve always loved the Lamborghini Countach! But if I’m honest every time I go for a drive the subie I just love it!
