Discovering a Passion for Cars

I'm Nathan Higgs, 35 years old, living with ADHD, and I've found solace and focus through working on cars. My journey with cars began thanks to my dad, but it was the Max Power shows that truly ignited my passion. Seeing what people could achieve with their cars, and pushing the boundaries of customization, inspired me. I love creating something unique from something everyone else can have.

The Beginning: Acquiring the SEAT Ibiza 6K2 Cupra

I got my SEAT Ibiza 6K2 Cupra in red from a tuning place in Essex. I swapped it for a SEAT Leon Mk1 20VT. I've always wanted an Ibiza—a small, agile hatchback. Initially, I planned to make a few modifications, but as I got into it, I realized I wanted to stand out. I swapped the wheels to Bullet A's (7.5j at the front and 9 at the back), smoothed the front bumper, and put it on coilovers. However, every time I made a modification, I noticed others doing the same. I wanted to be unique, so I took the car off the road, fully stripped it, and sprayed it BMW blue—a colour only two weeks old at the time. I knew no one else would have this colour. I did all the work myself, including the spraying.

Taking It to the Next Level: Custom Wide Arch Kit

Unique Features and Modifications

After some time, I participated in shows with the car in its initial modified state. But I wanted to go even further, so I created my own wide arch kit. This one-off kit features big touring car wings and canards, giving it a more track-oriented and show-car look.

• Engine: 1.8 20VT, running just under 300bhp

• Interior: Corsa VXR seats, full custom door cards, two 12-inch JL subs, full show cage

• Exterior: Custom wide arch kit, low line kit, big wing, custom sprayed roof covers

• Wheels: Bullet A's (7.5j front, 9 back)

• Suspension: Coilovers for a lowered, aggressive stance

The Rarity and Attention

There aren't many SEAT Ibiza 6K2 Cupras left on the road today. I've never seen another one driving around. These cars were only made for two years, and not many people know what it is. I get asked all the time about it, and people often say they've never seen one before.

Who Did the Work?

I've done all the work myself over the last nine years, and I'm still adding to it, always thinking of new modifications for the next year.

Future Plans

I'm planning to go even wider on the back of the car, get new wheels, and maybe refresh the colour to keep it looking sharp and unique.

Dream Car

My dream car is a Radical—a 1.3-turbo bike-powered car.
