The Ultimate Mk4 Toyota Supra Snow White: The Genesis of a Dream
When Sound Performance first opened its doors in 1989, Larry Prebis didn’t expect his car audio shop, then called SoundFX, to evolve into a world-class performance and restoration powerhouse. At the time, Larry's focus was singular: creating his ultimate Toyota Supra, a white MK3 with a striking deep blue interior and the legendary 3.0L 7MGTE engine. By 1991, Larry's "Hi-Boost" Supra was making waves with an astonishing 570 WHP on 93 octane—setting the tone for what would become decades of high-performance excellence.
Fast-forward to the mid-1990s and early 2000s, the rise of Japanese tuner culture propelled Larry to pivot SoundFX into a performance-focused shop, rebranding it as Sound Performance. Today, Larry and his team are renowned for building record-breaking cars and delivering impeccable craftsmanship.
Steven Bruno: A Childhood Dream Fulfilled
At the same time, Larry was pioneering the Supra performance world, a young Steven Bruno was busy racing Hot Wheels and dreaming of his own supercar. Inspired by the Fast and Furious franchise and the iconic MK4 Toyota Supra, Steven vowed to one day own the ultimate version of this legendary car. Years later, after achieving business success, Steven finally brought his vision to life.
His dream was clear: his Supra, named Snow White, would make over 1000 WHP, sport a stunning aesthetic, and include a premium audio system—all while being reliable and perfectly crafted. Steven turned to Sound Performance to help make his dream car a reality.
Toyota Supra Mk4: Exterior Transformation: A Fresh Start
When Steven’s Supra arrived at Sound Performance, it was in need of serious modernization. To begin, the team stripped the car’s interior before sending it to Bump and Grind Auto Body. Here, Twin Z side skirts, a Seibon carbon fiber hood, a TRD wing, and a carbon fiber front lip were installed, complementing the car’s stunning Weld RT-S S71 wheels. To complete the transformation, the Supra received a fresh coat of white paint and custom Supra LED headlights and taillights, giving Snow White her signature glow.
Interior Overhaul: Comfort Meets Modern Design
The interior was rebuilt with an eye for both luxury and practicality. New OEM carpeting paired with custom Alcantara and leather seats gave the cabin a refined look. A carbon fiber steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara, a modern StuLED HVAC unit, and a full LED light conversion brought the Supra’s interior into the modern age.
Steven also wanted premium audio, so Focal door speakers and dash-mounted tweeters were installed using custom billet mounts. Twin 6-inch Bazooka subwoofers and under-seat amplifiers delivered high-quality sound, while a Kenwood head unit powered the system. The hatch retained functionality for storing the Targa-Top, ensuring the Supra’s practicality remained intact.
Performance Upgrades: The Heart of Snow White
To meet Steven’s performance goals, the team built a powerhouse using the iconic 2JZ engine. Featuring a Gen2 Precision 7275 ball bearing turbo, a Race-Ported SP cylinder head, Brian Crower 272 cams, and a custom SP intake manifold, the setup promised both power and reliability. The engine, assembled with Wiseco pistons, Manley Tri-Beam rods, and ARP Custom Age fasteners, delivered a robust compression ratio of 10:1.
Fuel delivery was handled by Fuel Injector Clinic 2150cc injectors and triple Walbro 525LPH fuel pumps, all controlled by a Pro-EFI ECU wired through a custom Tweak’d Performance harness. The result? A staggering 1136 WHP at 36 PSI of boost, with plenty of headroom for more.
To harness this power, the team installed a Grannas Racing T56 transmission kit, a one-piece aluminum driveshaft, and SuperPros Poly differential bushings. Custom-built Stance USA Drag Coilovers ensured the Supra remained planted on the street and track.
Toyota Supra Mk4: A Show-Stopper
With the build complete, Snow White made her debut on both the streets and at shows, including World of Wheels in Illinois, where she defied expectations by taking home "Best in Show." Snow White was also invited to the prestigious SEMA Show in Las Vegas, cementing her place among the elite in automotive culture.
