Unveiling Elegance and Performance: 2017 Toyota Corolla iM
My name is Brendon Steadman I am 17 years old. I currently work at Bojangles on top of going to high school as a senior. I am in Air Force ROTC where I am on staff and I am the leader of the drone program. and have plans to join the Air Force upon graduation. This year my dad and I decided to turn his autocross 2017 Toyota Corolla. IM into a show car.
My dad has always been in the car seen building a show car when he was in high school and then building trucks after that we started building the autocross car in 2017 before I was able to drive. We go to car shows as a family, and we all work on my car. It is a family affair.
What I choose this Car and Customised it?
My dad had purchased me a Chevrolet Silverado round body. He lifted it, and put lights and wheels and TVs in it but I have always had a love for Imports. I’ll I asked him if I could please do a lowered import to take to car shows he gave me the iM with the understanding. We would all work on it together as a family, but it would be my vision and my guidance on what we did. He also told me that I had to purchase all the parts myself and he would put them on with my help for free.
What it feels like owning this car?
I thoroughly love my car and driving it around our small town. Everyone knows it. Everyone loves my car. Everything I do too. It makes me feel special when people come up and want to talk to me about it or take pictures of it.
What makes my car Unique?
See, they only made the Corolla IM for two years most people who are not into cars think it is a Prius. They have no aftermarket parts for the car available online everything we have done we have had to design and make ourselves. What makes my car unique is you cannot go out and buy it or order parts offline to make your car look like mine.

The Work
All the parts and all the work that has been done to my car have been done by my family. My dad and I did all the welding and fabrication along with my godfather Sammy Mabe. Jason Hazlip at Signs And Trophies did the wrap on the hood roof and Trunk along with the sponsorship decals down the side of the car.
DT Wraps did the bio hexxx, yellow headlight conversion I have had to learn how to weld how to do coilovers how to design and fabricate parts. I also helped run all the electrical components from the trunk and installed an external fuse box.
Future Plans
This winter I plan on putting the car on air ride. I am going to remove the rear door handles and the rear seat Wrap the whole car in Madeira matte red color, changing and changing the wheels on the car.

My advice or tips would have to be the patient trust the process and make sure you work hard for what you have

The Car Scene
I truly love the people in the car scene. I do not associate with a lot of people at my high school nor do I have a lot of friends. I have spent most of my time reading and studying books about JDM cars. When I go to a car show, I have a lot of friends I have a lot of people who love my car and who love how much work and passion I have put into my car, it has influenced me to the point where when I get out of basic training I want a duty station in Japan
Dream Car
My dream car would be a 1979 Datsun 280zx in grapefruit yellow with black racing seats widebody on air ride with a rb26
