From High School Memories to 700HP Masterpiece: Jesse Piersa's 1995 Nissan 240SX
For Jesse Piersa, a Nissan parts manager with a lifelong passion for cars, his 1995 Nissan 240SX is more than just a high-performance build—it’s a sentimental journey spanning over 15 years. What started as a high school ride has evolved into a 700-horsepower machine, powered by a Toyota 1JZ engine swap and a collection of rare, carefully sourced parts. Jesse’s story is one of dedication, skill, and a deep connection to the automotive world.
A Lifelong Love for Cars
Jesse grew up immersed in the world of cars, learning the ropes from his father. Rebuilding and painting cars alongside his dad, Jesse developed a meticulous approach to automotive work early on. But it wasn’t just American muscle that captivated him. A close friend introduced him to the world of Silvias, Skylines, and Supras, igniting a love for the sleek, chiselled lines of the S14 Kouki.
“The chiselled look of the S14 Kouki just did it for me,” Jesse says. His journey with the car began when he purchased it with a blown engine and automatic transmission. Over the years, he has touched every single bolt on the car, transforming it into the powerful and unique vehicle it is today.
Why the Nissan 240SX?
Why did Jesse choose the Nissan 240SX?

Jesse’s build is unique in its execution. Despite the extensive modifications, everything works seamlessly as it would from the factory. It’s a high-powered performance machine, yet easy to drive, striking a balance between raw power and everyday usability.

Who Did the Work?
Jesse is proud to say that he completed most of the work himself. From sourcing parts to engine modifications, Jesse was deeply involved in every aspect of the build. His friend assisted with the paint and some wiring work, while Carl McQuillen Racing Engines in Leroy, NY, handled the engine’s machine work. Sound Performance in Chicago handled the car’s final tune, ensuring that it runs as smoothly as it looks.
Future Plans
While Jesse’s Nissan 240SX is already a head-turner, he’s far from done. His future plans include keeping the car together and driving it more, as well as attending shows across the country. He’s excited to share his journey with other car enthusiasts and continue enjoying the fruits of his hard work.
Shout Outs
Jesse extends his gratitude to everyone who helped him along the way, including Sound Performance, Rays Wheels, Brian Crower, and Plazmaman for their support in turning his vision into reality.
Dream Car
Although Jesse’s current build is something to be proud of, his dream car remains the S15 Silvia. With his passion for the Silvia platform, it’s only a matter of time before Jesse takes on another exciting project.
Advice for Car Enthusiasts
