I was born and raised in Alaska but have also lived in Idaho, Washington State, Hawaii and Now the Beautiful Free state of Texas with my lovely wife and 2 small children, 22yrs in New Construction and am currently working as a Superintendent, enjoying building 20+ story high rises to custom 8,000 sq ft homes from ground up to closing.

I really wasn't too into cars in High school as I focused mainly on Sports; Basketball, Football, Wrestling and Track, and also girls. It wasn't until I was in college when I saw, NO joke, the first Fast and Furious and at that time, I told myself I'll own a Supra one day. Fast forward to today and 4 Supras later here I am. I started with a Turbo 88 Supra, then an 89 Turbo, to a 97 Turbo and now my current 96 Turbo.

I currently only have 4 vehicles. My daily 2001 modified Lexus IS300. I also have a 2011 Platinum Crewmax lifted Tundra for family, towing, and work. My 1996 Supra Turbo for shows, weekends, and adrenaline and lastly my wife's 2007 Infiniti FX45 rare V8 with a tasteful HKS exhaust and intake for the roar.

I've always had a passion to build anything I own to customize to my personal likes. Whether it be a home, my attire, guns, cars, or trucks. Since a child, I was always intrigued by how things were built so I would take things apart and put them back together. A lot of times items are built for function but not all for longevity or to the highest ability so I enjoy building whatever I own to the best it can be.

My last Supra dreams were cut short due to an EX which ended my ownership. Therefore when my wife told me to buy a Supra she gave me the Green light to complete my dream of the ultimate Supra in my eyes. I know my personal taste isn't for everyone but that's why we are ALL individuals.

I would have to say owning this car for nearly 8 yrs now has been a long journey. When I bought the car from the original owner it only had BPU mods on it. (Basic performance mods, IE: suspension, exhaust) that was it. So over the next years, I have spent hundreds of hours in the garage, and multiple trips to friends' shops to have welding done and I thank God and my wife for all the time given to do so. In that time frame, we have also been blessed with 2 wonderful children and I took time away building the car for them.

When I take the car out it feels like a rush every time. I love the respect given by the New to Old generation of people. Honestly, a lot of people don't know what a car is. I've been asked if it's a New Toyota and usually I just chuckle and say yes it was new 26 yrs ago.

What makes my car Unique?, Well, that one is easy....it's a SUPRA. But no in all seriousness I would have to say the wheel and brake set-up I personally designed. The brakes that are. I wanted to build the most affordable BBK available for these cars (under 3k for front and rear). I have to my knowledge the only true (front adapters anyway) bolt-on kit using 2013+ Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 6 piston Brembo fronts and 4 piston rears. There are other adapters out there but you have to use bolts and washers to space the calliper correctly.

Now that is just STUPID and cheap. My front adapter bolts directly up to the knuckle and is CNC correctly to centre these massive callipers over the Lexus ISF rotors that are needed for the kit. This allows you to use 14.5" rotors roughly on ALL 4 corners of the car. Minimum 18-inch wheels for front and can use 17 inches for rears. I have multiple sets of 19s which is perfect for the car in my opinion. This leads me to the current wheels on the car are Custom forged from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminium VELOS wheels built here in the USA. Front 19x10 and rear 19X11 are both under 20pds. Super light and super strong. Custom made to order with vehicle specs and custom offsets.

I can't take credit for everything but I did roughly 95% of all the work on the car. I have spent hundreds of hours on this car over the past 8yrs. I would like to give thanks where it is deserved first. God has blessed me with the time, hard work for the money and friends to help me with this build. My wife for allowing me all those late nights and weekends spent in the garage and travelling for that one-off parts. Want to thank Vlad, Julien, Moaka, Chris, Stu, Nathan, and Eric. You all know who you are. Thank you for all the time you have spent helping me weld, design, and put together my car.

Future Plans

I think the only possible future items for the car would be Sparco seats to make the car lighter and to hug better, upgrade stereo and minor detail items. All else this car is about the full package deal.

Advice/Tip

Buying these cars now is very expensive. Unfortunately, I'm seeing A LOT of abused ones and especially imported (JDM) ones that people are getting ripped off buying. JDM ones are coming over with a lot of unknown conditions and they are far less as strong as the USDM ones that were sold here. Weaker turbos, smaller cams, smaller injectors, smaller brakes, not all LSD rear ends, the list goes on.

Yes, maybe cheaper but at the end of the day, you drive on the opposite side of the car, which makes it more difficult. The money spent to make it equal to a usdm car you could have just bought one.  These cars aren't terrible to work on or buy parts for because they are Toyota, but they are getting more expensive when it comes to motors and transmissions. My advice is if one costs more but is in better shape it's best to get it looked at. For a project and lifelong car, buy one and enjoy the thumbs up for LIFE.

I say first address the suspension and the brakes. These cars are so old now that if the suspension is still stock it won't perform and will be dangerous to drive the way these cars were designed to. Also, the brakes are very adequate for the era but if you are starting to build a lot of power or drive like a race car driver you'll want to address them too. My advice is to build the car to be able to handle as much HP as you can throw at it then build the POWER. Most people I see build high horsepower cars don't build the cars to handle it. Case in point the crowd killing mustangs. Inherently poor handling and grip for the HP.

I currently am not in any car club and frankly, with being a father I don't want to take time away from my family as you can not buy back time. My son does enjoy car shows with me but as much attention as groups require I can not give that much time. I am on Instagram (StreetRollinKustoms) and on ParkUpFront in Dallas Texas which is a car show APP which is amazing as you have to qualify for the class of the car.

I would say I keep a close-knit friends and a majority of them are through growing up with a passion for cars. I enjoy hanging around positive people and car culture with people who like to get their hands dirty to customize their cars.

Dream Car

Honestly, the Supra was my dream car and the only other reality car I would like to own and someday I feel soon will be a Maserati GranTurismo MC. Just pure sexy looks and sounds. I know it's not fast but beautiful.
