What Sparked My Love for Cars?
Hi, my name is Ethan. I live in Cupertino, and cars have been a lifelong passion for me. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been drawn to the beauty and engineering of automobiles. After graduating college, I purchased a used Boxster, but deep down, I always dreamed of owning a 911. Decades later, I’m fortunate to enjoy the fruits of my earlier sacrifices. My interests include cars, audio, photography, and philosophy, and my Porsche journey intertwines all these passions.
Growing up in the 1980s, being a car enthusiast felt natural and aspirational. Back then, the main hurdle was money. In college, I drove a Honda CRX, pouring every spare penny into it. While I can’t say it gained much horsepower, it handled like a dream and gave me a deep appreciation for driving and customization. That CRX marked the beginning of my love affair with cars and the thrill of personalizing them.
Why This Car? The Build of My 1997 RWB Porsche 993
I’ve always yearned for a Porsche 911. While modern models boast tangible improvements, the charm of an older, air-cooled Porsche is unmatched. For me, this car represents a journey back to a simpler time and an opportunity to revisit and reimagine the past.
Although a stock air-cooled Porsche is incredible in its factory form, I opted for an RWB kit—one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s transformed the car into a vessel for unforgettable memories and endless gratitude.

My RWB Porsche 993 is a luxurious tribute to Porsche’s heritage. While many RWB builds lean into racing aesthetics, I’ve chosen to craft mine with luxury and tradition in mind. I’ve incorporated genuine Porsche RS and Tequipment parts alongside iconic brands like Brembo and Recaro.

What I love most about RWB builds is their ability to serve as a canvas for personal expression. My car blends individuality with a deep respect for Porsche’s legacy. The luxurious interior, advanced stereo system, and carefully chosen components make every drive a joy, whether it’s a spirited run or a leisurely cruise.
The Driving and Ownership Experience
Owning and driving this RWB Porsche 993 is pure bliss. The car’s unique design and thoughtful modifications not only turn heads but also create an intimate connection with the road. Each drive feels like a celebration of engineering, art, and individuality.
Who Made It Possible?
Most of the customization work was carried out by Marvin from Rennshop in Mountain View, CA. His expertise and attention to detail brought my vision to life, turning this Porsche into a masterpiece.
What’s Next?
My future plans include building a Cabriolet RWB to complement this one. The idea of pairing these two cars excites me and feels like the natural next step in my journey.
