My name is Alex Dominguez, I’m 26 yrs old and currently working at Crash Champions Collision Repair as an Estimator. I spend all day working with different cars and working on my own car whenever I get some free time!

My very first car show was the import face-off in Joliet in 2017. When I was there, I saw tons of amazing builds and was really impressed by all of the teams. One team that stood out the most to me was Team NVUS. I was really impressed with all the detail that these guys had put into their builds and they were very great people to talk with!

From that moment I knew that I wanted to go modify my car and join this club. In 2018 I started to come out to shows with NVUS Chicago and continued my build over the next few years until I finally bannered in 2019 at that same show I first met them Import Face Off in Joliet. It was such a great feeling getting that banner put on my windshield with my fellow brothers that supported me throughout the journey.

The reason I chose this car over others was at the time, you didn't really see a lot of 9th gens pop out with nice modifications in Illinois. I really wanted to be one of the 1st to have this as an actual show car. Plus, this car had so many nice options from the carbon dash to the black and red interior that just fell in love with the car at first sight when I went to the dealership. I built this car as my 1st car and I wanted it to be special and take my time with the build. I've owned this car for 5 years now and every modification that I do just changes this car entirely and I fall in love with this car every time.

Owning this car has made me super happy. knowing I’m building it the way I want and driving this car just brings a big joy seeing how many necks I break as I drive down the street and of course when airing out the car whenever I park never gets old. Getting a lot of compliments on the car is just a great feeling knowing others appreciate what I've done with my build.

My car has evolved around my car club team nvus and our club slogan is we support those who support us. What makes my car stand out the most I believe is all of the details of having the car logo/slogan all around the car, to the wheel centre caps, shift knob, or even custom door panels that were made. My car is meant to spread love and support towards others and their builds.

The Work

Some of the work done to the car has been with friends and family. Installing the front bumper and rear trunk set up with my dad, installing headlights with my good friend Rafa Bunag. Install my seats and harness bar with my best friend Xavier Ybarra.

Future Plans

My future plan for this car would be to get a carbon hood, rear diffuser, engine bay work such as wire tuck, turbo, and last but not least possibly wrap the car in a different colour to switch things up.

Tips/Advice

My biggest tip/advice to people looking to build a car is to take your time don't rush the build and enjoy building it. Build it the way you want to and don't let others tell you how to do it. Lastly, surround yourself with friends that enjoy your build and are willing to help those are good friends and great memories to make.

Shoutouts: Team NVUS - @team_nvus

The car scene has brought me a lot of great memories and really good close friends that I would consider family.

Dream Car

My absolute dream car would be a 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 in midnight purple.
