I got into cars at a young age through my dad working for ford and my love for Hot wheels. I remember when I was 11 my dad came home in an Electric Green Mk2 Focus RS and watched him fight the torque steer as he showed me what it could do and from that moment my passion for Ford was truly lit. I have worked hard to earn money for cars as I knew them to be an expensive hobby and boy was I right. I have had 3 Ford Fiestas, 1 with the 1 litre Eco boost and 2 with the 1.5 TDCI before finally in July 2019 I made my order for the brand-new MK 4 Ford Focus ST.
I was originally going to go for Magnetic Grey but I saw a Ruby Red model in the showroom and just had to have it. In September after much waiting and years of patience for insurance to drop, I finally had it a fast ford, my goal had been achieved and straight away I fell in love with it from the looks to the sheer performance, but it wasn't long until I began thinking of what I wanted to do with my new project. This car for me is my long-term project, I intend to keep this for 8-10 years and in that time, she is going to be designed into a car seriously worthy of the ST badge.
The car as standard is running 280BHP from a 2.3 litre 4 pot power unit derived from the MK3 RS however I am currently running approximately 330BHP through the Dreamscience E6 imap handset on Ultima+ with plans to look into the stage 2 when it eventually appears on the market. Alongside this I recently installed a SiCO Developments cold air intake system which has made the car create an incredible noise on lift off and really accentuates the sounds from the twin scroll turbo fitted to this car. The Ruby Red paint allows it to be a better sleeper as people don't expect it to shoot off down the road, combine this with the exclusivity factor due to the colour now being halted on the ST variant of the MK4 then you have a truly special piece of kit.
Why the MK4 Focus ST, Well I tested a MK3.5 ST and it didn't really make me feel anything, don't get me wrong a good car in its own right but nothing that set my heart alight, I also tried a MK3 RS, but this just wasn't comfortable enough for the mileage I will be covering in the car. From the moment i started the 2.3 Litre engine of the MK4 and heard that growl into life I was sold, it was comfortable, practical and above all, fast enough to provide a challenge to its competitors. It completely set my heat alight like the MK2 RS did when I was 11 and from that moment there was no way I wasn't going to order one.
I have also got some visual changes to the stock car as well, I have matte black accents from DMB Graphics on the front and rear bumpers. The ST logo on the front is gel White and the rear is Carbon Fibre effect which also sports a Dreamscience Motorsport badge below as well. I have Ford Performance plate holders fitted to the car also. Up on the spoiler you will find a Maxton spoiler riser which I have had sprayed body colour by a Ford workshop before it was fitted to make the car flow as well.
This car also sports Ford's panoramic roof, which is awesome in the summer to open up, drop into track mode and listen to the exhaust popping and banging as I blast round the Essex B-Roads. For now, she is an ongoing project with many more modifications planned some of these include:- Exhaust upgrade, Dump Valve, Maxton diffuser and splitter set, Stage 2 remap, Lowering springs, Spacers, intercooler upgrade and many more.

I am the events manager for the MK4 Focus ST Owners Group but unfortunately, we have only made one event this year due to COVID-19 but 2021 looks set to be an absolute cracker for the club. Alongside this I have recently set up a YouTube channel called OTR Reviews where I review new cars and also track other people's builds. I have some awesome link ups planned in the coming months for the channel and hopefully more cars to begin reviewing soon.
